Life with my cockatoo Max. Max is a 20 year old moluccan cockatoo. Angel was a 16 year old black cat who is the older videos. Angel passed away in January 2016. Dusty is our new cat. He was a stray cat I tamed over 2 years and now lives with us permanently. Dusty is around 8 years old.
Max does NOT have his wings clipped and has NOT had them clipped in 15 years, he can fly when he wants but normally only will fly if something startles him.

That’s not a happy cockatoo, that dance is a warning dance and his way of saying “ I’m pissed off right now, come near me and I’ll bite you” I’ve been around them long enough to know the body language of these birds that’s why I’m posting this on here so you’ll know in the future and avoid losing a finger or possibly part of your upper lip in the process as well. My grandfather got bit by his cockatoo 20 years ago and he said it hurt like hell , the bird bit him on his backside and the tip of the birds upper beak actually touched his vertebrae on the inside of his flesh of his backside. If you want to avoid that yourself in the near future then keep your cockatoo off your shoulder because that’s how my grandfather had his before it escalated into that painful situation
Don’t sent me a response telling me that your birds not mad or hurt it’s only playing and you defend your actions because I don’t buy it, birds are unpredictable and Steve Irwin said that birds scared him more than crocodiles because of their high intelligence and unpredictability, he said they’re fast and all it took was the blink of an eye and boom! You lost something that you became attached to ( fingers, toes, part of your lip or part of your nose )
Toes toes toes, belly belly belly, and a beak beak beak! How i love the love flowing between Max and Dan! And his wonderful fluffed-up mode, i guess intended to make him look bigger in front of an enemy, is beautiful and adorable!
