D-Day 80th Anniversary Tribute - The Shores of Normandy by Jim Radford performed by Shea Ferron
As my tribute to the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, I have chosen to perform The Shores of Normandy by the late Jim Radford.
Jim was believed to be one of the youngest on D-Day when he was the Galley-Boy on the Empire Larch, a deep sea tug, that was involved in the building of the harbour in Normandy. Jim wrote the song to share his perspective of the day. I first heard the song 10 years ago during the festival of remembrance and the words stuck with me. I am honoured to sing this in tribute to Jim and all those we remember that day, that gave their lives so we could live in Liberty

One comment deplores the use of a space dedicated to the worship of God as a venue for entertainment. I have a different take: isn’t it a tribute to the creative love of the Almighty that His creatures can create such beauty in their shared effort toward art? The harmonies of this group reinforce a sense of what God hath wrought in His beloved creatures.

I often marvel in God’s gift of music to humans, and the ability to create and perform so beautifully is a gift to us all.
There is singing in heaven and i am convinced the Welsh sing in harmony with it.
