The end of Billy Wilder's script reads "How is he going to get himself out of this? But that's another story - and we're not quite sure the public is ready for it."
Watch where you point that thing, you loony wino.
Great scene and film
This was a very ambitious experiment in cinematic ballet--only based on popular songs, not classical music. Same for Limehouse Blues. There were some stylistic excesses in Ziegfield Follies, and it wasn't a success when it came out, but we can only be grateful still to have it. It was a bit more than audiences were ready for then. And no real story to hold it all together.
Dodge: "Somebody find Buckman and launch him out a torpedo tube!" Buckman: "Uh-oh!" Stepanik: "Just where do you think you're going?"
Underated movie
No, it is not.... However, such comment is so overrated
Saw this in 2016. ❤
Wonderful movie
As a kid I cracked up 😅1:44

He is better at drama than comedy!
Great movie
Phil Silvers, legend
2:14 💧Take that, you criminal!
😂🤣😂
Tim Robbins was really amazing in this role - one of his smallest, but perhaps my favorite.
I think of this every time I ferment anything in my kitchen. 😂
Oh you better burn that shirt salior....Gets me every time.
Love this movie ❤❤😊😊
"You mean I'm not white???" "Does Dad know???"😂
Is she saying shit or ship?😂
Great movie
This movie proved that Jim Carrey is as good at drama as he is at comedy
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Lovely 😍
Oh good, our chaplain has arrived.
This is a rare find.
Great comedy ❤
Women were beautiful in those times
I watched this on TV as a kid in the 1960s and I've always remembered how Doris and the man with her light matches to walk through the short hallway into the big, well-lit nightclub area. I thought that was pretty silly since the matches obviously weren't necessary, as they'd been earlier when the song was sung in the completely dark interior.
1:06 give it your best shot shrimp 😂😂
Many, many thanks for this upload of another of my favourite musicals. According to the Joan McCracken Biography, she had a lot dancung for this number but, as is always the case. It was dropped. However, this one of Metro's finest. I wonder how long this took to film.
Well not always, or we wouldn't know what a great dancer she was--we'd have maybe a few still photos of her theater work. She was critical of the support she got, but she did get first rate choreography and musical arrangements. It's not really a number set up for a big solo by a supporting player, and the whole cast has to be featured. She got way more heavily featured in this film than she did in any other film--or for that matter, in Oklahoma!, where she wasn't even the second female lead. (Third? Fourth? People mainly remembered her for falling down--on purpose). I agree her talent deserved a much bigger showcase. But she hated film work, and it wasn't likely she was going to become a star anywhere but Broadway--leaving her health issues out. MGM, as I'm sure you know, dropped her contract after this. Watching her few big dances for the movies, you do get a whole might-have-been feeling from it. The movies weren't ready for her. Hell, they weren't ready for Fosse ever--he had a few shots at stardom, went back to Broadway. More influential than any other dancer, one might argue. He left Joan for Gwen--who didn't become a big film star either.
A gem from 1986 great movie.
I love Armed and Dangerous it's one of my favorite John Candy movies.
The Rev Obadiah Slope, portrayed by Alan Rickman was a worthy opponent indeed!😅
All time classic movie. My favorite from the 80s, i still think about it.
“Uh, sir. It’s general uh, what’s his name again …” Uh, the USN doesn’t have generals. I love this movie!🤣

I couldn't BELIEVE Bluto urinated on their shoes outside the building!
They should not have been standing there😳😝
They shouldn't have been expected to know that!
Exactly 👍. That’s what makes it funny.😎
It would’ve been kind of gross if they had it been expecting it, don’t you think?😉
Larry told Kent: "I heard Delta's the worst house on campus!" He was right about that!
“The world is a sh*thole, full of sh*tty little scumbags, who are scared sh*tless.”
Brilliant!!
