    I'd love to see a series where your using your data system to build a team, then run it through the simulations. Some different versions could include things like buying players for under 10 million each to compete in the Premier league etc. If that makes sense😅

      Funny you say that, I actually had a similar idea to find the best players outside the top 5 leagues, can see how they'd compete in the Premier League, just haven't gotten around to actually running a simulation.

    thanks you so much for your work Datalab is clearly the kind of tool i was waiting for this new feature is already fantastic The only little thing i would like is being able to not display the "top average" trajectories in the tab, but maybe the median one. Also : an idea for a possible futur feature/work : add a part to determine desirable wage for a player based on his score in the datalab. Maybe export and analyze X players wage in their league on 9/23, calculate their score, regroup with their current annual wage. Then create different marker/range, to know how much should be the wage of an XX score player for XX role etc A sort of value maker.

    • @FMDataLab
      @FMDataLab Před 2 dny

      Not a bad idea, could definitely look into a feature to toggle trajectories off & on. That's also a great suggestion, I'll keep that feature in mind, though I think a lot of wages could be dependent on the league they are playing, a player rated x playing in somewhere with a lower reputation like, Latvia, could be much different to the same rated player in the English Premier League.

    Desperate to use this website but as mentioned by others....I have fm23 and the views don't show up. Using squirrels in the meantime but would love it if you could either create the views or advise what we'd need to do to create ourselves. Thanks!

    • @FMDataLab
      @FMDataLab Před 6 dny

      Yeah, someone else had also raised this about an older FM and the FM24 views not being backwards compatible, so I'll have a look into this. You can maybe try to create your own view with all the required columns in the interim, here are all the columns I used; - Name - Position - Age - Height - Weight - Player Status Information (General) - Club - Division - Nationality - Second Nationality - International Caps - International Goals - Personality - Media Handling Style - Wage - Transfer Value - Left Foot - Right Foot - Strongest Area of Game - Weakest Area of Game - ...Then add all attributes - On the left side of the customise view dialog there should be a dropdown to select "Attributes", then you can highlight all and click the `Add` button. The order of these don't matter, just that they exist. It's possible that some columns could be missing/have a different column name in the exported HTML file, so you may still get an error on FMDataLab, you can try it on the new /upload page, as it will be faster, but let me know how you get on.

      No, I don't believe that value is available in any of the table views, as that value is position-by-position basis for a player, and not a value on the player as a whole. I just use the `Position` column to determine which positions a player can play. So if a player only `Competent` at a position, I unfortunately don't have that information available.

    • @FMDataLab

      This has been the 2nd time this has been raised, not sure what the issue is and have been unabled to recreate. It seems that exported .html have the "Left Foot" & "Right Foot" columns as "Left" & "Right" but the cells for those rows have no data, where it should have values like "Very Strong", "Weak", "Reasonable" etc. My suggestions would be; - Ensure you are using FM24 (If you have an FM23 save ported over to FM24, that might potentially cause an issue?) - Delete the view and redownload the view and import it again (The columns in the list should have "Left Foot" & "Right Foot", you can also check the exported .html file and ensure it's not just "Left" & "Right") - Customise the view, remove the "Left" & "Right" columns and replace with "Left Foot" & "Right Foot" (Click on view > Custom > Customise Current View, then in the "Filter" tab select "General" and "Left Foot" & "Right Foot" should be there, if not then that will be the issue) - If you are using a custom skin, revert back to the default skin (and repeat the above steps if necessary) - Check if you create a new save and repeat the steps above, does the issue persist. - Use the English (UK) language before export. And for all of the above, be sure that you clear you cache afterwards (Preferences > Reset > Clear Cache) and double check if the issue persists. And a few questions to see if i can find the source of this issue and find a fix or suggest a solution; - Do you have attribute masking enabled? - Are you using a custom database? - Do you have a custom skin? (especially when you initially imported the view) - Do you have the in-game editor enabled? - What version of the game is your save? (are you using the base version or the 24.3.0 update) - What game mode are you using? (Career, Create-a-club etc.) - By default, what is your in-game language? - Is this an issue on all views or a specific view? - Don't think this should really matter, but which store did you purchase FM24 from (Steam, Epic Store etc.)?

    • @FMDataLab
      @FMDataLab Před měsícem

      Hey, I have added a quick fix to work with the "Left"/"Right" columns if the "Left Foot" & "Right Foot" columns are missing. However, as mentioned in my previous comment, the attribute values are all missing, so you may need to try another export and double check the exported .html that is has all the expected data before uploading.

Please ensure when exporting data that you use the "English" language, when exporting in another language, FMDataLab cannot parse the column names from the table in the .html file. Please, also ensure you are using the correct views as provided by FMDataLab when exporting data from Football Manager. Ensure there is players within your file and that you've used the provided views before exporting your data from Football Manager. If you are using a custom skin within Football Manager, that can also causes issues, so try reverting to the default skin when exporting data.. And in View squad is no data of prefer foot.

    • @FMDataLab
      @FMDataLab Před měsícem

      Thanks for raising this. I think I found your file, looks like your exported file has the column names for "Left Foot"/"Right Foot" as just "Left" & "Right" This could be an issue if you are using a custom skin, or you may need to clear your cache. I have double checked the squad view, on a new save, and it should have the columns as "Left Foot" & "Right Foot". If there no data ever, then that might be an issue in your save/game/skin, but there is sometimes no data if you have attribute masking enabled. A few things to check; You are using FM24 You are exporting while using the English Language You are using the default skin Try deleting the fmdatalab_squad_view, redownload and import again (while using the default skin) You could also try and remove the "Left" & "Right" columns by customising the view, and try to add them back manually, this may bring back the correct names and values? You have cleared cache (Preferences > Reset > Clear Cache)

      @FMDataLab Před měsícem

      Hmm, at a bit of a loss here, this is the first instance where I've come across this issue in over a thousand different files. I will look into handling just `Left` & `Right` column names, but if they never have any values it seems like there is some depper issue that needs resolved in your game, if you have already tried all the solutions above and clearing the cache each time.

    • @FMDataLab
      @FMDataLab Před měsícem

      Hey, I have added a hot fix so you can now view your file if you reload FMDataLab, obviosuly, the caveat being that there will not be any details on each players strength with either foot as the cells for Left/Right are empty in your file. But at least now you can see the table without the error message. But there still seems there is a problem with your export, and not just the "Left Foot"/"Right Foot" columns being replaced with "Left" & "Right", but without any data in the cells. While the column for Nationality exists, all the cells are empty, where you would expect it to always have data for that column. (2nd Nationality works fine) So it's most likely some of issue with the export in your game in general/your save, rather than the view. Could be as something as simple as using an older machine that doesn't handle the exports very well.

    Stumbled on to this the other day randomly and I really like the way it is laid out, colour scheme the fact I can default my weightings and tactic roles to be readily available. I'd be interested to know for your colouration of the scores, what thresholds are you using? Is it something arbitrary or have you looked at existing players to determine the thresholds? As a side note I think making an easier way to copy the information across to a spreadsheet would be useful. I tend to use a spreadsheet to whittle down these scorings on my scouting list to my shortlist and direct targets. It also would help with a pet project I have for myself. I know from your previous videos, you have seen squirrel making his python app but one thing that he has also recently done is his trajectory piece which I really liked and so I've been crunching the numbers (he released the data he used) and integrating the weightings from this app into that trajectory piece for different roles that I use as opposed to his own tactic. I'd love to be able to just lift the details off of this straight into the spreadsheet to generate the trajectory but they paste in a really odd way with the name in a different line. Just makes it awkward to handle the data, not sure if there is something in the app that could be tweaked to adjust that copy pasting or even to generate a table that is easily pasted/saved. Will continue to use the app after all I have to support someone who sounds pretty local to me.

      Thanks for checking out FMDataLab! The colours are mostly just a gradient going from red to green. So it goes from shades of red, to orange, to yellow, to green. 1 - 5.49 is shades of red 5.5 - 9.49 is shades of orange 9.5 - 12.49 is shades of yellow 12.5 - 20 is shades of green (bit more of wider range as the highest score you'll really see is 17) Yes, an export of the table has been on my roadmap, for the reason you've explained, think it will be helpful for further analysis! Funnily enough, I've also been working on an algorithm to predict players trajectories for a few weeks now, so you'll be able to view each individual players role trajectory based on the median trajectory of other players at that age, for that role that my algorithm has calculated (will have a video on how I've gone about this). This will be in the next release you'll be happy to hear!

    Mega mega update! One slight thing to add for next time. In the "Roles" section of the detailed player screen, I would like for each position to be collapsible, and if they can't play the position it would be collapsed by default. I think this would help with readability/clutter. You most likely aren't going to the roles section and looking at roles a player can't play (unless you want to train them into a new position). Having only the positions that they can play be expanded by default would help with having to do lots of scrolling, especially for strikers.

      Thanks for the great suggestion! I'll implement this in the next update!

    The reason those players were all 1s is because the player export is finicky, and it sometimes decides that it will only export the attributes of the first 30 or so players

    Very cool! As you pointed out, Squirrel Plays did beat you to the punch. Because of this, I will be comparing the two programs. And, after using both programs, here's some feedback: What I Found to be Better than Squirrel's: - I liked all the different sorting options within each column - I found the color coded grades to be much more readable than the plain white one on Squirrel's - I liked the tactics feature, even though it feels underutilized - The file save feature is new compared to squirrel's. I may not use it that much since I don't feel the need to come back to old files, but it's nice to have I guess. Bugs: - On your table tutorial, the text for the "Overall Best Role" is the same tutorial text as the "Best Role (Position(s))" - The individual player view screen tutorial didn't really work. The first box was halfway off-screen and when I clicked next it closed out the player and went back to the table. I could at least read the second box, but clicking finish closed the player tab again. Room for Improvement (more like a wish list): - The biggest turn off for me was not having editable weighting. I really enjoy the ability to adjust role attribute weighting, and that really is a dealbreaker for me to not have that. - I would really like a "replace file" button, so I don't have to delete then re-import - Is it not possible to detect what view the user is importing based on the types of columns? Then you could just use the system file name as your file name streamlining the process. - Just overall streamlining. In squirrels I only need 4-7 clicks on the website to get a new file imported. On your site I would need 9-14 clicks + typing in file name + deleting old file wait time + 2x page load wait time (I'm always on a table view from when I was last looking at a file) - The fact that EVERY TIME you sort the table you're sent to a new page makes your back arrow useless/clogs up your page history - Why not have the ability to sort "Best Role (Position(s))" and "Overall Best Role"? - The biggest selling point of this web app over squirrel's is the tactics feature, but I don't think you are making the best use of it. - I would love to see a "Best Role (Position(s)) in Tactic" column - I would like to have the ability to have the positions in the position column only show positions in your tactic. Yes, you can select positions at the moment, but there is still clutter. (Player has M(RC), but I only use M(C)

      If you want to save files for the web app I feel local storage would be much faster and I wouldn't need to sign in Hopefully, I haven't said too many negative things about your app. I do genuinely think it's a good app, and the many hours of work put into it are quite obvious.

      Really appreciate the great feedback. You've made some really good points. I've already started work on the weighting feature you'll be glad to hear!

      @@tabletbrothers3477 The "weight" is over. I've just added the ability to edit attribute weights in the latest FMDataLab release. My recent video covers all the updates.
