I bought a 42 clone and a krake raken spiral clone plus a standard knife. Ive never had problems with them beaide oil running dry and my knives getting creaky

Yes it was working up until i traded in the 4Runner a month ago! It was both wireless or usb

Bought my T latch 42 brand new in 2000. It is the most beat up, clapped out 42 on the planet. I have sharper butter knives. I use it as a screwdriver, caulking scraper, prybar, & bottle opener. Still carry it most days of the week. & love it! It's a real knife for using, not a flipper. Collectors would be horrified at what I've done to my Real 42, but I believe knives are tools meant to be used, no matter how expensive/pretty they are. If a knife is to pretty/expensive to actually use, is it even a knife?
Great vid man Tho i do have to disagree with your statement about clones taking sales from original makers. Squid has even gon on record saying that clones have not affected their business at all. In my opinion, the only thing clones hurt is peoples feelings, because they dont like that they can make basically the same knife for cheaper Again, no hate, love the video Got myself a springer 42 with black powder coat handles on layaway rn too
I agree with you. If youre a gun guy, you know that Glock has their famous G19 platform and so many companies have copied it, made cheaper versions, made nicer versions. If it works, other companies hop on the trend. Like Polymer80, PSA, Shadow Systems, Agency Arms, and many more, all have copied the Glock platform. In the firearm community there never really is any debate on "oh you shouldn't buy that because its a Glock clone!". People buy what they can afford/ want. I think it would be nice to see more clones trying to be different though. Like with CHAB has zen pins and makes it different from the original. I think it would be cool if the clone companies would take the original design and make it their own a bit so its not a 1 to 1 replica.
Real JK stuff is pretty much as overpriced and underdelivering stuff you can buy at the moment... i've heard about cases where the clones held up much better and haven't lost the handle gap. I do agree on the whole counterfit vs just a clone topic... most people in the balisong community call everything a clone, even if it just mildly resembles it. The meaning of a clone is a 100% identical counterfit and people in the community just don't understand that... plus people claim that legit companies are losing money due to clones and i really don't see how that would be the case. Would like to hear your take on that aspect.
Interesting point on the real JK stuff. I have 0 experience with them but I have heard horror stories! I feel like the people who buy clones do so because they either can't afford the real thing, or the real thing is too difficult to come by, like a tsunami. I currently own and have owned several $500+ balis and I love them and have no issue paying that amount for them, I am however very blessed to be in a position to do that and a lot of folks aren't. If an 18 year old kid can't afford a serif, they're not buying one. So if they buy a clone, it's not taking money from machinewise. Just my opinion. At the end of the day people should do what they feel is right (and is legal) and not worry about others opinions.
Pity they don’t make these models anymore. I love benchmade 42 also for its spring latch, but with the way things are, I still have to hunt for fakes…
"The one" is one of the better clones I've seen. Actual titanium handles so that's a thing I guess. Wish I never sold the 2 og 42s I had...

Yes it works fine! It can be buggy every now and then, but it works great most of the time.
is this the blue one they sell? it looks more black which is what I actually want, but in other videos I've seen the mid section look a lot more blue, so idk how it will turn out
Yes this is blue. A friend of mine has one and his is a much more vibrant blue.

You can get better than that, better quality control for one. I was just about to purchase this knife but after listening to you complain about crooked handles, someone in your comments complain about crooked handles and someone in another video make the same complaint...well that tells me all I need to know unfortunately.
I'm happy my video helped you make a decision! I sold that knife a while back and don't miss it. It did flip great, but the QC was not where it should have been for sure!
Can I still listen to my car's OEM Bluetooth? When I go back to regular Bluetooth (not using the android unit) it shows the media I am playing - but I hear no audio.
Yes. Your phone is connected to both the car and the carplay unit. You have to pick the audio out from your phone. Like if you wanted to switch from headphones to the speaker on your phone.
So you can play music off you phone . Or you can listen to the radio. Really interested in this. Was looking at head unit but prices are insane.

Of course you should! The vulp has held up great, and I flip it a lot!

@@torgomax It is not fragile! I have dropped mine countless times on hard surfaces. Only cosmetic damage! still functions perfectly.

Does the orca blade get damaged when it hits the handle? Because a pinless design seems like a bad idea when the handles are so much harder than the blade.
I never noticed any damage!
Handles are a lot softer than the blade... it's titanium against hardened steel if it was just normal mild still that would be different and it doesn't get damaged because the inside of the channel is milled like zen pins, so the blade doesn't just hit the inside of the handles
It's pronounced ATtropos, not aTROpos. Konstantine is great. The kirat 2 might be the easiest flipper I've tried. Liked it so much I bought 2.

I'm sad. I watched this and was like nah it can't happen to me and bought it. This balisong is super cool and everyone seems to love this knife but mine was bent as well. O play no tap and sounds great. Lighter then expected but it does wabble on the table since the handles aren't straight. It makes me sad I just got it today

Not good news for me. Just got it back today and it's better then before but same problem. Very sad that I spent that much on a knife that camt even be made straight. One side of my handles if you try to wobble it, it just stays flat unless you apply uneven pressures since handles are round. Other side little wobbles compared to before but still baby wobble wobble.

I was just getting ready to order one of those Kershaw trainer blades. Can you recommend a better trainer for a beginner that's more like that black one your magically flipped that is better then the heavy Luchia?
I would take a look at the squid industries trainers. The black knife I showed in this video is a Squid industries Krake Raken.The Squid Mako is a great trainer thats much lighter than the lucha due to its aluminum handles and its cheaper!

Would you recommend the vulp to a intermediate flipper? I heard it's not good at chaplins.
I would recommend it. I am an intermediate flipper and I love it! I think it can chaplain just fine!

Thanks for posting this. I literally just started looking into these and this unit in particular seems decent! how's it holding up? any tips and tricks for the install or function of it now that you've had it for a few days?
It's been working really well! Its not as fast as a newer car with carplay from the factory, but compared to not having it, its great. It's really straight forward as far as install goes. Pull the trim surrounding the radio, unbolt and unplug the head unit, install the carplay unit, reverse procedure.

My favorite alu bali best alu flipper on the market doesn't get the attention it deserves lol I do not like the kraken compared to the barebones the barebones is more neutral the kraken is more handle bias we have a drop coming up actually soon! Also alpha beast doesn't use zen pens brotha it's a tang pin bali there isn't really a fix. The rep uses zen pins though. The clone is zen pins but the authentic isn't.

@rsxtypesmobbin8661 yeah you can't do anything about it. It's designed as a tang pin bali so no making it into zen pin. Would have to redo the blade, the handles and everything to fit the zen pins and to have it where the back of the blade hits the zen pins lol.

I have one that sounds like crap, but it flips like butter. Some Carbon Honey improved the sound, but did not make it sound "good", just more solid.

When I first got my ChAluBB I couldn't put it down for about 4 months. At this point the handles feel like they are polished from all the flipping but the gap has stayed the same. Such a great knife.
