zhlédnutí 760Před 7 lety
quick sale around the islands of Sydney, with the new and improved rig. very light conditions between 7-5 knots, giving us a top speed of 2 knots. still was a nice day out on the water looking forward to final departure.
This is excellent; great info for someone like myself who is keen to purchase their first keeler. Much appreciated 👊🏻😎
After looking at building a Tophat, I ended up with the Roberts 25 instead. Never liked the layout in the Tophat, and it was a much smaller boat than the Roberts. The Tophat sails better because of its overall design as a 25 footer. While there is tons more room in a Roberts, its design was a cutdown version of a 29 footer. Hence the snub nose, but great interior space. For an A grade or better fitout, it cost me $29k back in '86 when I launched it. The Tophat would have cost me more and was a like camping as can be seen here. So for a liveaboard, I'd definitely go with the Roberts, but for sailing I'd go with the Tophat. Gr8 vid mate.
Loved seeing your sailing adventures: What size make is your yacht. Cheers
I need to sail from Pittwater into Sydney. Any experienced sailors want to assist ?
Mate I'd be happy to, probably a bit late of a comment though aha
Nice boat mate, where did you get the rigging done ?
Hey mate, I bought a top hat as is moored near Spit bridge in Middle Harbour. Saw your vids, pretty epic adventures on the little cruiser. Was wondering if you would be keen to do a sail with me just out in the harbour one day?
Well done chaps
Seen this little boat for sale at the moment do you know the current owner?
nice video,,,did you do the upgrades yourself? and whats the difference between mk1-3.. you mentioned it was about $10000 was that with all the upgrades as i can imagine they would have been around $6000 or more..
R u still sailing ⛵️
Not atm mate, but still have a boat
I can't believe I got one now in Batemans Bay and keen as to make her mine...
Hi mate, im looking at potentially getting a TH25 but im 6'2" tall and I am not sure if there is sufficient headroom. How much headroom is there? Aside from that they look like a ripper of a sailboat. Cheers,
I’ve got one of these. Anka. The plug for all the others. Three layers of Queensland maple under the glass and a teak veneered deck. She’s not quick, but really steady!
Thanks for sharing, Its nice to see how similar our carters are but also very different. You can see ours on “the hopeful sailor” r
Laurieton is a Bonza little anchorage Cheers Gray Brizzie
Outa toutch, outa site, and at night, the stars reflect the light in the water. simply magic. well done. Gerard.
Epic! Keep up the great work! Take a look at promosm! I used it to promote my social media, you could use it to promote your videos!

Did you sell the Carter 33?
Can’t get away from the Tophat huh?? Great to see!! How’s the new home going?
Hey mate how much did that boom cover cost? Looking at getting the same
I think it was about $600, they are handy to have.
@@thatsailingguy9648 cheers yeh definitely!
Nice boat I had a quick look at her when she was on the market a couple of years ago
Yeah she's a beauty, the previous owner spent some serious money on her. Brand new rig and motor. The boat is in A1 condition, besides a few small cosmetic things.
Great yacht/home!! Looks in great nick. Jodie would like the extra room!
8.1 Knotts for a tophat. That's impressive. I thought they were supposed to be slow.. That should be above hullspeed.
How fast is it under sail?
Well done mate. Loved the music too!! Cheers!🍷🍷
I've just bought a Top Hat 25 as well not sure if its a MK 1, 2 or 3 though and I'm trying to start a CZcams channel Sailing Sink or Swim check it out, happy sailing.
Great boats. Perfect little single or shorthanded cruiser. Built very aswell.
Top hatters are a close group!. Some known a little more than others.
Mate, where are you located? My toppie is in burns bay. I'm new to this and would like to shout you lunch and a beer to pick your brain and maybe you can point me in the right direction. Jason.
I bought a top hat 25 just before you sold yours!
Looks like a great boat mate. Im in a Phantom 32 now thats just like a big top hat. I think Ive seen your boat on a Dangar Marine video when the new windlass was getting installed. Looks like your in Pittwater now ? Possibly your new boat czcams.com/video/UbioQhSD6F0/video.html
Hay mate cheers. We inspected a phantom 32 but wasn't happy with the internal layout. This carter just had that little extra room in a few places. Yeah dangar stu actually installed the enfine aswell. It lived next to renco
Looks good mate. Bet Jodie loves the extra room. Have fun!!
She does mate. Very beamy boat. Good bathroom size aswell.
Gday mate Your new boat looks great Just letting you know that you have comments turned off on your last few vids that you have uploaded

Dropped my phone down the outboard well once.

G'Day mate, New to sailing and am looking at a Top Hat 25 so am really looking forward to this series and checking out your boat more! Would it be rude to ask what you paid for her? Cheers! PS - Corona has f'd everything!!
hey Johno yeah ive looked at a couple top hats brisbane tassie and sydney, all seem to be around the 4500 to 7500 mark, couple had new diesels but most outboards.
Hi Braiden. I am looking at buying a boat and have had my eye on the Tophat 25 for awhile. I found it interesting to see you went back to one after the other boats. Great vids and love that you show it as it is with out music blaring over it.
Good fun, looks like your drag is set on the overhead, if you back it off when you aren't using it the drag stacks will last forever
Thanks for taking us along mate Looks like fun out there. I haven't left my mooring in McCarrs Creek Pittwater for the last couple of weeks. Sure hope this virus buggers off soon
Yeah that's the plan. The cockpit fills up like a swimming pool
