Rabbi Jessica Lenza - As a child, I loved singing ‘Amar Rebbe Akiva, V'ahavta l'reiacha kamocha. Zeh Klal Gadol Batorah’ and took to heart its profound message ‘Love others. That is the whole of Torah.’ And, to this day the words that follow the Shema ‘love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength’ (V’-a-hav-ta et A-do-nai El-o-he-cha, b’-chol l’-vav-cha uv’-chol naf-sh’-cha uv’-cholm’-o-de-cha) are among my favorite in our prayer liturgy. Thank you for introducing me to Brancha Diaz and her bravery, that like Queen Esther, saved her people. Warmly, - Nadine, BJ member who lives overseas and joins services by livestream

That is a wonderful drash by Rabbi Felicia Sol. 😢 I truly miss BJ! I have been visiting BJ since Rabbi Marshall was a Rabbi may he rest in peace. These videos are beneficial I still see Mark, but I don't see my friends Shelly and Todd. Baruch HaShem I still see Rabbi Roly Matalon and Hazzan Ari Priven (beautiful voice). I enjoy visiting BJ every Shavuot, haven't been able because I am battling Prostate Cancer and I fell down the stairs and ruptured my right quadricep tendons, I am forced to use mobile devices (crutches, walker) I am homebound on Long Island during Shabbat. Your videos have come when I needed them the most in these dark times they have lifted my spirit 😢 I appreciate the guests you have weekly. Mi Shebeirach Yochanan ben Abraham

We should always speak out against injustice. Even when it is against ourselves. I commend you for your courage to speak up. 👍🏼 Injustice is injustice no matter who the perpetrators are and who the victims are. I hope others join you.

I am sad for the Conservative movement to embrace homosexuality. Recently God rejected the movement to have a crown in Jerusalem and Israel because of this. I have loved Bnai Jeshurun attending in person and online. May your congregants be filled with love and wisdom; may they enjoy Jewish life fully. Though l can no longer support BJ because of your stance on LGBT you have my love and respect. May Jews awaken to righteous ways and choose Torah values.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 King James Version 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life ROMANS 10:13 For “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

I did watch the interview with Alon-Lee of Standing Together in Dutch TV program Buitenhof on May 12, 2024.. I agreed with almost all he told the viewers during this interview. Very heartening. But it raised one question I'm thinking about already a long time. For me a two-state solution has become almost impossible and not realistic. If all people living in Israel / Palestine are equal, why not a one state solution, with a secular Constitution, with guaranteed equality, freedom of religion and non-religion, social justice for all the inhabitants, a secular state, and the right to return for Palestinian refugees.

I am watching this on March 19, as my daughter sent this to me. We are an Orthodox Jewish family who absolutely supports this work. I have personally begun a support group of those who Hold Multiple Truths Simultaneously with these same foundational beliefs. Does NIF and Standing Together have any way of identifying a group of Orthodox Jews who actually are in this group, as opposed to drifting to the right extreme?

I'm in the US; I totally get this, and strongly support this effort as the only way forward, ultimately. I wish I were more optimistic. But none of this addresses the issue of Iran-Hamas-Houthis-Hezbollah *not agreeing to co-existence* with either Jews or with Palestinian, Druze, Bedouin, and other non-Jewish citizens of Israel who stand against Hamas and Islamist fundamentalists in general (and, to whatever degree, against settler violence and Jewish extremists, too). Hamas attacked *exactly* as Israel was about to form an alliance with the Saudis. This was not random. Iran, et al., will do anything to prevent this. They attacked the very people, progressives, who had already done extensive outreach to Gazans and Palestinians, in particular. To people who protested against the right-wing Israeli government, who wanted -- and still want -- the very things Standing Together is working towards. The same forces will use all their considerable resources to oppose the very idea of peace, whether with outright violence or via online trolling and misinformation. Omitting the reality of the situation won't bring peace. Again, I wish it would, so much. I don't want to see one more life taken in the name of whose dirt is whose. But when the Left does nothing but engage with the Left, there's a presumption -- unaddressed in this long discussion -- that working toward equality and civil rights for all will do *anything* against those who sow chaos in the name of their utopian/messianic delusions (on both sides). There's too much fear out there. The first task should be to defuse the fear, to get people out of their traumatized POVs, so they can think straight and engage willingly. If that's not Step One, no protests, no new governments, no UN agreements, nothing will prevent traumatized people from falling prey to authoritarians. We see this all over the world. Experts in brainwashing and cult control say it repeatedly: you have to remove the imminent threat, whether real or imagined, before you can get people out of fight/flight/freeze mode. When I hear more about that, I'll have more hope that real solutions can result. PS can we stop saying "Israelis and Palestinians"? There are many Arab/Palestinian Israelis (about 20% of the population), and this juxtaposition leaves them out. Assuming that "Israeli"="Jewish" is a concept that needs to go away. Israel has a diverse population, and we need to embrace that; as well, we need ways to designate Arabs/Palestinians in the WB and Gaza who are not Israelis/Israeli citizens, and in the case of Gaza, were not under Israeli occupation and haven't been for years. The nuances of the situation are important to acknowledge.
