Progressive Lower Body Training: Ground Forces & Club Delivery
zhlédnutí 440Před 12 hodinami
In the downswing, the left leg pushes the left hip back as the club goes through the ball. This key match up of motion patterns pulls the right side up to the ball and ensures the club and trail arm has a clear path to the ball. Timing this motion occurs in the full swing and the short game or any time the body moves. This video starts with small motions and works all the way up into the full s...
Ball Control w/ L to L: Hands Control the Face
zhlédnutí 295Před dnem
Learning to control the face is critical in developing your feel for the club face and controlling the ball. Your hands are the face of the club. Ultimately this gives you more control over the ball which is the name of the game.
⚡️Load your Backswing for Power⚡️: Sports Connect: Throw a Ball
zhlédnutí 536Před 14 dny
Use your backswing to load angles in your wrist and back to develop speed into the ball. Much like throwing a ball, my wrist will load and as my arm loads my scapula in my back loads. This creates a lot of potential energy to direct into the club and finally into the ball.
Stay Connected: Lead Arm
zhlédnutí 553Před 21 dnem
The lead arm needs to fold in the forward swing much like you would throw a frisbee. The allows the club face to accelerate and stay on the swing arc. The club swings left as the ball goes down the target line.

Outstanding video. Can you do a video detailing what it means for everything going through the ball at the same time please?
I seen a couple of videos of my swing. My left knee is a big fault , as you illustrated!! Thank you so very much. John m subscribed , bell lit up
It sounds good I hope it works.
@@tonyrinaldo136 It’s a game changer!!
Wow! This looks great, looking forward to trying this!. My miss on these shots is a thin, which kills your score. And you’re right, I’m not comfortable hitting the ground. Thanks !!
This will allow the club to bottom out properly..thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Great lesson. Thanks. I subscribed
Awesome, thank you!..and thanks for watching 👍⛳️
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for explaining it so clearly.
Glad it was helpful!👍⛳️
Billy do you pause at the “top” momentarily to feel weight of the club come back down and use the momentum of the club into the downswing; or do you just bump and then go when you’re ready to transition into the downswing? Your CZcams videos are amazing, I wish you were out in Colorado so I could do some lessons with you; keep up the good work!
Thanks Brett..no pause at the top..there is no top rather a transition spot. The change in direction of my body drops my arms and club.
Hands stay very low?
Hands work around your body which is low and left after the strike.
This loading not only adds distance but seems to make flusher contact
Definitely 👍..Thanks for watching ⛳️
When I don’t use my hands I can’t get a divot. Not sure how to hit it without using your hands
Definitely use your hands even if it’s for feel or directing the club towards the ball. Your hands are the face
Hi Billy, great video, Ive switched to L to L as I find it a much more easier and relaxed swimg when Im under pressure , competitions etc, my fabricated swing breaks down at those points, but after my backswing L I like to start the transition by pulling the handle towards the target , providing my grip is not tight 3/4 out of 10 the club will fall naturally fall and whip through the ball. I achieve relatively good distance this way for my 62 years and its consistant. Question is i am not using any body in tbis swing really and i am looking to go to the next level can you reccommend something for me. Thank you very much for reading this long post. Paul
Hi Paul..body movement is very important and I have a lot of videos on it. Thanks for watching 👍⛳️
FINALLY!!! Someone said it...🙏🏻
Thanks for the note and watching 👍⛳️
Great demonstration on getting left. I’ve used the four step drill before with success but it’s been too long, great reminder
Glad it was helpful!👍⛳️
thanks billy for your help on the swing.i really like the way you state the arm and hand action should be.
@@Robert-1950 You’re welcome..thanks for watching 👍⛳️
hello Billy....thank you for your instruction.....does this apply directly with woods and driver?
Yes..this is true with all clubs 👍⛳️
Thanks mate, this is the one part of my game that I need to get sorted.
Your welcome..thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure..thanks for watching 👍⛳️
This man is a great coach. He makes everything click. I just started golfing and his back to target sit move finally clicked. If you’re new to golf watch his videos. Unreal.
Thanks for the note and thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Your tip made a big difference in my swing, in a way it is an adaptation of my softball swing. It works great thank you for your work.
Glad it helped!..thanks for watching 👍⛳️
This is a Jim Venetos swing and I does work
Thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Billy- I am struggling from 70 yards in. Skull-asoris
Start with your setup..left foot/right toe so your head and eyes are in front of the ball
Hi Billy, I am huge fan of Malaska golf teachings, and I like hearing your point of view on golf teachings. I am VERY familiar with pretty much every Malaska drill, video, concept, etc, and have been building a golf swing for the last 6 months using Malaska as my CZcams coach. I have a question about "the swing", and I hope isn't too difficult to answer without seeing video my myself. My statement before my question: I am really good on the range at the drills, finding the right drills, and SOMETIMES put everything together and have a really good swing. My question: how do I actually put everything together consistently to have a repeatable swing? Again, I am good at each drill individually, but when I go to the course, everything goes out the window because there isn't a "drill" to do. Is there something I can practice to consolidate all the drills together to actually build my "unconscious swing"? Is there ONE drill that I could ALWAYS do that is my "course drill"? Looking forward to any feedback!
Thanks for the note..I get this question a lot. The swing has to become one motion at some point and the drills are very specific to one movement pattern typically. First I would take time between shots on the range to see if you can get consistent strikes. On the course build a pre shot routine where your mind is more target oriented with a feel of a swing.
I love your tips. Thank you
You are so welcome!..Thanks for the note 👍⛳️
Great explanation of the lever system!! Seeing your low point or hinge at the bottom is an aha moment for me. Appreciate your content!
Thanks for the note and glad it’s helping 👍⛳️
This is going to take my TopGolf game to the next level. You da man Billy!!
Thanks Matt ..that’s awesome 👏 👍⛳️
Very good explanation! Thanks

I’ve honestly never heard this thought. Such a good flow to the swing. Thank you for the content!!

Reminds me of Mike Malaska where I first heard this. I like your logo by the way, well done
Yes and it should ..I’m a Malaska certified coach and have worked very closely with Mike for the past decade. Thanks for the logo compliment 👍⛳️
I discovered your channel today. If the excellent Mr Malaska ever hangs up his camera then we can be truly thankful to also have you. Great advice - thank you for taking the time to help us.
When I left my comment yesterday I had only seen 2 or 3 of your videos. I had no idea you had worked with Mr Malaska - but I do now ! Been watching your content virtually non stop. Excellent stuff - thank you again.
Thanks for the note..yes I’ve been working with Mike for some time now. All the best 👍⛳️
this is excellent instruction. very clear and practical. I've recently discovered your videos and find they simplify and combine what many other teachers try to explain in a unified manner. thank you for your time and effort.
Glad it was helpful!..Thanks for the note 👍⛳️
At set up am I 50/50? Also do I tilt at set up?
50/50 is a safe starting point and yes there is a slight tilt at set up..some caused by the grip 👍⛳️
@@BillyFitzgeraldGolfand am I pushing off back foot? Or just do that sit move? I’m new to golf and keep hitting off back foot. It’s very frustrating. When you say push and go where am I pushing?
@@bj146651 once you move up to your left foot, your left foot pushes your left hip back to your right hip. So your right hip moves back, then up to your left foot and left foot pushes left hip back. This motion allows the right arm to compress the ball without body interference
@@BillyFitzgeraldGolf ok I get it now. Awesome. I have been trying your move and it definitely is helping I just need to get the movement down. Thank you so much.
Like it.
Thanks for liking👍⛳️😉
Great explanation
Glad it was helpful!..Thanks for the note 👍⛳️
Thanks Billy!!!
Your welcome 👍⛳️
The lead left leg pushing back is dependent on the tilted rolling rib age that the lead side scapula is attached to in addition to being attached to the golfers swinging arms. The golfer can push back with his lead left leg as fast as he can, but this action may also block his swing if the full turning of the rib cage left does not happen at completion of the golfers swing. Am I wrong? Cheers
Good explanation regarding speed. I like your phrase 'adding speed safely'. I'll be drilling this one. Thanks.
Thanks 👍⛳️…it’s a good idea to get the car straight before you hit the gas ⛽️
Awesome explanation with a great visual and how to create a feeling!
Glad you liked it!..Thanks for watching 👍⛳️
I like the left leg push away discussion and that is where speed is generated. Helps me to keep from “rushing from the top”. Excellent video.
Thanks for the note don..yes this is a great way to create speed and maintain change of direction 👍⛳️
“The speed is not from the transition ( there is no top)!!
Your a smart man Mr Davis 👍⛳️
I'll give this ago tomorrow, especially with my irons i seem to hit straight right with them
This should definitely help squaring up the club face 👍⛳️
In other words, right butt cheek pushes at target. Gears shows elite player's right hip bone moves back and left 1" to 2". amateurs right hip bone thrusts out to ball.
This is spot on 👍⛳️….get into your left foot through a combination of right hip socket and the momentum of the club going towards the target..recentering you
Always a professional presentation
Thanks doc..hope to see you soon 👍⛳️
This is excellent!!
Thank you and thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Great video Billy. A 'how to' type question please As the torso rotates Bach do the arms extend outwards away from the body's center of rotation? Is there a conccious 'pushing outwards' motion to prevent the arms/club unit from following the body rotation inwards?? I guess the answer is yes but would appreciate your view Regards, Another Billy
Thanks Bill for the note..the answer is very much based on the individual but students who pull in yes have to feel like they are pushing the handle out a bit to offset what they have been doing. Thanks for watching 👍⛳️
Are your shoulders square with target?, or do they aim right?
You want your body and the club going through the ball at the same time. Thanks for watching 👍⛳️
love your videos but pulling inside like that is a bit of a exaggeration if you think about taking the club back and putting them over right shoulder things will fall into place (Manuel de la Torre)
Thanks for the note and yes it is an exaggeration. I think the big thing is how much your arms already pull in because of rotation. Feel and real are not the same in this case.
Love your videos Billy. They are however really quiet compared to everything else on youtube, no idea if you can fix that but thought id let you know.
Thanks for the note..not sure what’s happening. It sounds fine on my end and I use high quality microphones. Thanks for the update and thanks for watching 👍⛳️
