I bought dessert type soil for my succulents, will that also work for my Venus 🤔

I just bought those. I live here in Florida, I have a peat moss perlite and silica sand mix as well. They are sitting in rain water. I put it out in the full sun and it started to die the top hood started to dry up and shrivel. Is the Florida sun too hot? Now I have them behind a 45% sun blocking net, thinking the sun was killing it.

If you are going to sprout the seeds outdoors in direct sunlight - do NOT cover them. The container will overheat and roast the seeds very quickly.

I planted some seeds last year. They germinated. And thier close to a year old like half an inch tall. When can I start separating them so thier not all bunched up?

I have huge pinguicula. I didnt follow any single advice for it, just handled as normal plant. If i pull one of the leaves, it would not break, it would pull all plant out.

What happens to the plant that you took a cutting from? my pitcher plant is getting big and almost touching the grow light. I was thinking of cutting the top off and trying to propagate it. But obviously, the mother plant will still be there, and im just wondering how it will grow now. I'm assuming from a node sideways, but idk if I'd like the look of that. idk what do you think? Will this plant eat, trap some thing as small Roaches, here in south Alabama, will buy 8 at one time, then, fry bacon on stove, and spread out all 8 plants, after frying a hamburger, or bacon, turn off, all lights, get dark kitchen install 16" kitchen Counter Natural Day light tubes, will handle 3 plants, add, lots of water to each room, it's dry air, add lots of water, so soil surface will dry, slower, more moisture in air, the slower the soil dries out faster, in dry home air, or a poultry egg incubator room, your sucking dry air on top of hatching eggs, . So add, lots of Dollar Tree Kittie Litter boxes full of water, raise, moisture, in the air, add, a box fan to room, to avoid, hot, cold pockets on a timer, on 12 hour, off 4 hours, or on 1 hour, off 6 hours, and on low speed, at 6 or 7 feet away from plants, never up close.

Its better to dry out too fast, rather than too wet.

I just put a dead, rat, small, or a dead, bird, with, maggots, in full sun, . Plants eat flies, and crawling maggots, and Meal worms work well to feed a fly trap, quiet a show, once it closes, beetles, go wild, use a feather, to touch the fingers, trip, hairs, I use a 2 gallon Scott"s Turf Sprayer, from, Home Depot. Feed semi live flies, or, worms, strong, G. E. 30 watt, a 4 foot L. E. D. Grow Light.

My husband bought his first plant (we call him Bob) and he was already having crown rot when bought so he thought it was normal until I took a picture look up. Yeah I just bought a fly trap from Safeway! Total impulse buy, but the difference is I actually have a degree in Horticulture and knew I needed to know more… I’ve done a lot of reading so my plant is outside in the sun. I bought distilled water and a TDS meter (which is helpful for aquarium care too) The details about unhealthy fly traps and what to do help is great! Insight regarding the fly trap dormancy is important to keep it alive and thriving all year! Thanks for your presentation - it covers all the bases🙂

I was wondering, if that's an aluminum pan you have them in? I've heard and red that metal is bad, because they can leach toxins into the water.

Thanks for the video. Your results are in line with mine using this method. I typically do only vertical placement since it's more space efficient and I can better control where the baby plants strike. It seems like all we need to do is keep the cuttings alive long enough for them to strike. I wonder if stronger air movement and temps in the sweet spot of 60-80F might produce better results.

Fun fact it becomes a draw. While the trap kills and absorbs the slug, the slime from the slug is actually toxic to the trap as once absorbed within a few days the trap will develop something like burn marks all over itself, begins to turn from green to yellow and eventually kill the trap entirely

If I put my plants in a terrarium (just for plants and not for any type of animal), how to I have to water it?

Thank you for the tips. I brought home 2 plants that came in death traps. Lol. All I knew was to feed them distilled water from the bottom. One is still growing long strong new growth. The other one is not doing the same. Thanks for the help and I will be watching your other videos because I am in KS and don't know how to care for them in the winter. Buying your soil mixture has turned out to be a good investment. I'm noticing that my traps are looking much healthier and standing much taller in the pots. Now I'm looking toward dormancy and winter here in Minnesota trying to plan a good way to keep from letting the cold kill off my wonderful collection. I've learned a lot from your series of videos!
