For me he's hands down the best player in football history. Ok maradona, ok pelè, ok ronaldinho, ronaldo fenomeno, they are legends, but they just CAN'T DO what messi does in game. That's a fact.

See, this is the thing. It's perfectly acceptable that people prefer Ronaldo because he's a grafter. There can be no doubt that Messi is better though as he is the more natural talent. Ronaldo is the better athlete, though you also have to consider he's a more naturally athletic build. Messi was never an athlete. He was small and stunted. He was a natural footballer though. His natural skill at the game is/was WAY beyond Ronaldo. The athletic side wouldn't come as easy to him. This includes stamina. It therefore may not have even been possible for him to graft the same level as Ronaldo. That is just bad luck. Who's the GOAT footballer if we're talking strictly skill? Messi without question.
