Aqara Vibration Sensor Toilet and Trash Can Setup and Review
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed rokem
Today I setup and review the Aqara Vibration Sensor (Zigbee) connected to HomeKit via my M2 Hub. I test out its vibration sensitivity on my toilet bowl, in an attempt to prevent wasting water when my toilet flapper fails to go down all the way. I also test out its tilt sensitivity on my garbage can to alert me when my dog gets into the trash. Please let me know of you have any comments, suggest...

UPDATE: indoor growing setup with drip irrigation - fixing leaks
zhlédnutí 22Před 2 lety
Just a short update of my last video after finding leaks. I replaced all barbed plumbing fittings with threaded and compression fittings. After a few adjustments, everything is working with no more leaks. Soon I will share how I will automate everything with a smart power strip and a Raspberry Pi.
Overview of indoor growing setup with LED grow lights and drip irrigation
zhlédnutí 15Před 2 lety
Just a quick overview of my indoor growing setup with LED grow lights and drip irrigation. Many of my plant cuttings are natives (blueberry, muscadine, blackberry, and more). Also a variety of natives being grown from seed. I'm planning on making the system fully automated in the near future and will provide more detailed videos.
Thanks
Put the vibration sensor inside of the tank, mounted to the top side of the float. Put inside a ziplock bag and mount it using rubber bands.
mine keeps repeating "ready to connect, please open the home app" but never connects to my phone
kinda late to the party - i had the same issue. @sobisas, did you MANUALLY select the indicator ? the presenter goes over this part quickly, so you may have missed it, but it's in the video (3:20). This is the solve.
Same issue here... Aqara is garbage!
About using the vibration sensor on the toilet; If it were working, wouldn't it be awkward if you're getting a notification, every time when someone used the toilet? It would make sense to use the sensor, if you could set it up with a command like "if the vibration occurs longer than 20 seconds, prompt a message". Right?
Yup. In Aqara, from my understanding, you can set up a rule to trigger based on no vibration, or a vibration reset. It seems like he's using the M2 hub and he could setup that automation in homekit (Home) app.
Is a hub needed for it to work?
Liking the video! Nice Buck! Just curious, why didn't you gut him out in the field?
Never mind. You did..... Cheers!
Looks like your new to this
We all have to start somewhere.
What you shoot it with ? Those big holes
He was shot with a .243
I’m not trying to be a know it all , but I’m an outfitter guide , trapper , etc . Don’t saw with your knife , use firm pressure and let the blade cut . Also get that esophagus out at the sane time as you skin .. that sours the meat around it fast and the blood in the chest cavity can’t get out . I really do like your one step at a time approach Hone thar knife on a steel more often . Oh that’s fish fillet get a Victorinox boning knife , trust me you can use that knife but use what the pros use , there is a reason. Get a meat hook for your hand so you can pull easier when it’s hanging. Make your cut on the ribs then bone the strap towards the spine , then with one cut down the spine the strap comes off. Oh .. you can cut the back strap as you go do you aren’t holding a big anaconda for 10 minutes 🤣🤣 it does look better all in one big piece but it gets cut anyway. Recip saw with a bone saw blade is good too.Or Axe 🤣
thanks for your suggestions. I actaully have two Victorinox boning knives and a meat hook (Dexter?), but forgot to bring them. Great knives. I may do a video on butchering tools in the future.
You can make a cable loops through bar bar if you cut the tendon , that’s all I use , only way to hang a bear because the whole hide and paws have to come off. I just googled cable gambrel , I guess you can buy them now 🤣
I use a torch to burn the excess hairs , idk if it’s the right way but it works and helps dry up the outter “ skin “ .. like quick not to burn it
Interesting idea. And I'm assuming it doesn't make the meat taste like burnt hair?
joemisak7925 1 second ago It’s just quick on the outside with a tiger torch . The outside gets trimmed anyway but I never taste burnt hair
How to replace the battery when the sensor is attached on the surface?
You have to rotate the device 10 degrees, then the top part comes off exposing the battery inside.
Nice Prime haul, let me know how that air quality sensor works out for you. Also awesome idea on the toilet flapper with the vibration sensor never thought about that one that would have been nice to have in the last house I was renting.
Thanks. The air quality monitor is good enough I suppose, but I'm finding that it only updates the TVOC value every hour, so it's not really suitable to control the air purifier that I am getting. I will have videos on the vibration sensor (on toilet and trash can) and the TVOC monitor/Air Purifier soon.
@@thesuburbanprepper6439 thanks for the info on the TVOC kinda disappointing but look forward to the vibration sensor video.
You done turned off my kitchen lights lol nice setup!
Thanks!
