Duramax LB7 Turbo Resonator Delete
This video shows how I removed and replaced the Chevrolet turbo resonator off of my 2003 2500HD (LB7)
This is by no means the only way to remove or replace the stock resonator. This is just my personal install.

Hey Duramax91, just seen the vid the other day. Was curious as to how rubber plug is holding up after a year.

So I did the exact same thing you did. I actually think it quieted some, also noticed very mild increase in turbo whistle and throttle response

First thing is to straight pipe, cool air intake then tuner and finally aftermarket intake horn and change the turbo down pipe. It will cost about 1600 bucks or so and a lot of hard work, but EGTs will go down faster, and you will get great mileage.

The first thing it to to any duramax is a lift pump. They don’t have a low pressure fuel pump at all. Let’s sit in your fuel reducing power. Then exhaust. 4”-5”. Your choice by sound not enough power to egt to matter. Efi live tuning. It cost around to a hair over 10,000 to replace a fuel system in these truck. The oem fuel filter can’t run to injector specs. vacuum destroys cp3. Lift pump extents cp3 life, stops the rail from starving for fuel, increases injector performance. That’s just my opinion and what ever diesel mechanic has told me. Everything you said is important but lift pump is most.

I did a fass 165, efi live 5 tune pack, edge cts2 insight monitor with pyro, 4" turbo back straight pipe, ppe boost valve, and now this. The lift pump by far was the best thing longevity wise for my truck. My problem is I didn't do a sump, and I'm having 1/4 tank issues, so I gotta put one in at some point.

duramax91 i own a stock lb7 and have left it that way for yrs...what is the reason for the delete out of curiosity???

Ryan Y Just to ‘cleanup’ the engine bay, to prevent from the plastic box from breaking & sucking in dirt/dust. It’s no actual performance gain. Some say (placebo effect) they hear more turbo whistle, but that’s not really the case.

Jose Ortega i personally have not seen any significant changes since this small modification. I maybe hear the spooling of my turbo a little better. But, it could be because I was looking for a difference.
