Thank you for the review as I had the option to buy the 1st gen Mix Pre 10 for much cheaper than the Gen 2. This video clears it up for me on which one I should get and the 1st gen will work just fine for what I need after seeings this video!

The Sony z190 is a great camera, but only in high light. When I zoom in, the aperture drops to 2.6, which is terrible. The Z280 does not have this feature. I'm very curious about why this camera exists and why it exists. and in reality a 2.6 aperture is similar to a 3.4 aperture.

HELLO A&S! I just got my Sony PMW-EX1R and shot some footage! My question is: I used an SXS Adapter to transfer my video mp4 files to my computer! The problem is the Palmcorder puts each take in a separate folder making, batch capturing impossible! Besides using the USB out in Media Mode, can I use the Fire Wire IDEE Output to do the same? Will Adobe Premiere recognize it and control it like it does with a Mini DV Cam? Is there an advantage of using a USB vs a Fire Wire IDEE?

I'm getting grainy footage from my z280, even at 0dB gain and f2.8. Its a grainier, softer image than the inexpensive Canon Vixia. What is the trick for getting clean footage from the z280?

Having an issue with getting the SDI out from my FS7 to the new 7" Shinobi monitor. HDMI comes in fine but can't seem to nail the SDI in. Any ideas of settings I m missing on FS7?

I enjoyed your video - Can you offer a suggestion why, ? my HXR-NX5R will not output a HDMI signal to my external LILLIPUT 7" preview monitor. I have HDMI output selected. I have picture in my on board flip up monitor and playback is good. Following other suggestions I selected INITIALIZE, which was explained as a factory rest. THIS DID NOTHING , NO CHANGES. NO video's cover this. B&H couldn't help. I wrote to SONY but that can take way too long to get a reply. Do you have any experience with this problem? Thanks Jim

I tried to connect line in input to our soundboard/mixer and i'm hearing sound in sony. But when i connect to mic input, it works. weird. i thought mixer is always a line level output.
