I don't know if I heard you properly, but I thought you said D E D E D E but you said that the 5th fret of the 6th string is the 5th string note, so believe the tuning is D G D G D G. I tuned down to a C and F so I raise the 1st and strings only up only a half step (from B and E to C and F) and it sounds good with the capo on the 4th fret.
