I loved the original originals of Star Wars 4, 5 and 6 I was a kid when the first film came out so really love them shame George Lucas won't put them on blu-ray or 4k years ago but there you go he only likes the special edition versions as you said.

I’m a huge fan of 'Scum' - one of the few steelbooks I own. First heard about the banned tv drama, then the movie version came out soon after. Both versions are on my steelbook. I saw the ending as a political statement about how these institutions are - no solution or happy ending. Avoided 'Dog Pound' as I assumed it was a poor remake … curious about it now though. Gilbert Grape is another favourite of mine - at the time, we were convinced Leo was actually mentally challenged (there was no internet, we just viewed by trailers and film magazines). The next time we saw him in a movie, it was quite a shock 😂 Gilbert Grape is such a good film, could talk loads about it.

I need to re-watch Dream Scenario - excitedly saw it, as the trailer and premise appealed big time. However, loving the start, I was quite disappointed with the direction it took. Haven’t seen it since, and am reluctant to buy. Hoping for a stream release to decide whether to purchase. Really intrigued by 'A Cure for Wellness' now, and will seek it out … and damn you, I want to see Chronicle again now! 😂

Great unboxing and review of Schindler's List I got the 4k last year thought it looked really good in black and white too and glad you liked the film as well. Great pickup with the Police Squad too.

Police Squad was a genius series - made after the success of Airplane, and in the same vein. Shown on tv late at night, it went under the radar. Gotta watch it multiple times, to catch all the background jokes, just like Airplane. Nice to hear your thoughts on Schindler's List, been debating whether to get it on 4K.

I agree. Blade Runner is boring. I've tried watching it a half dozen times and it never holds my attention. I still haven't seen 2049, but everyone says it's a masterpiece so I'll have to give it a shot eventually

Yeah, there’s nothing notable about the original now. However, when it came out, we hadn’t seen this kind of film - a Noir sci-fi, Vangelis soundtrack, fresh actors and a fresh premise. Apart from the 'ooh factor' we got from the initial viewing at the cinema, I agree with your thoughts, always have. I’ve watched the multiple variations, multiple times, trying to find the fascination others have with it, but I like it less each time I view it. A few terrific scenes though, that I love to re-watch. 2049 … much better experience all round 👍

Can’t fault your opinion here at all I’ve watched Blade Runner over the decade And it’s always bored me -I appreciate it for its world building etc. but it drags. 2049 I loved. It does look and sound fantastic on 4K. And I totally get what you mean by it looks beautiful. Def the superior of the 2

Well, I’m intrigued by this idea. Give it a go and see how it’s received and, equally, how you feel about it. If they prove popular, and you enjoy it, maybe start another channel devoted to it … 'MMM The Next Chapter'. Personally, I like channels that mix things up - you've got a variety of music, podcasts, reviews. Nowt wrong with adding layer, I’ll watch/listen. If you don’t try, you’ll always wonder … so, try.

Good reviews of all 3 Equalizer films I loved the first one the most as well and the second one is good too. The last film not a patch on the other two but ok in my opinion.

I have a love hate relationship with the force awakens, the last jedi and the rise of Skywalker especially with no character development, or background, of Snoke. What a wasted opportunity there! My number one choice will always be Rogue One. What an astonishing film! Faultless in every way!

I liked the first one the best. The second, not so much. The third film was terrible. The fourth one was better than the third. 1 & 2 were the best imo.

I bought the Italian release 3disc the one disc a total ripoff.

So much can be, and has been, said about this film - the original seed of the premise of ‘Who’s gonna look after the kid?' films for decades to come. Chaplin walks us through, comedically and heartbreakingly, the cultural & political hierarchy of who should be responsible, in the kid's best interest. SO pleased it’s got a superb transfer, deserves it.

I really wanted this on 4K but was put off by the packaging. Decided to wait n see if Criterion release it over here … could be a long wait! Nice to hear it’s a big improvement, cos I love this film.

If you get a chance, watch the 'Under pressure' documentary, in the extras - it’s very interesting.

The Laserdisc had the same small image. TVs back then had a 'Zoom' or 'Full' function, which blew the image up. Gotta say, on my old CRT, the Laserdisc looked great, even when blown up. I think it was something to do with Cameron's reluctance to use anamorphic lenses.

is the black and white Chrome edition available in 4k anywhere?

So … Yorgos watched 'Sophie's Choice' and thought “This film needs my weirdness thrown in!”. I’m gonna check it out, intrigued now I’ve seen his take on other themes.
