Belinda Carlisle - Waiting for a Star To Fall
zhlédnutí 203KPřed 14 lety
Rare bootleg demo of Belinda Carlisle singing "Waiting for a Star To Fall," circa 1987. This song was offered to Belinda and others before it was eventually done by Boy Meets Girl. Yeah, she's a little off-key, but this just a bare demo.

Perfect Sex

Watching this scene from "Perfect" starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis, while gut busting laughter as always comes out of me, I thought that the Berlin song, "Sex" would be more fitting than that dumb 80's nightmare song they have in the movie. And hey, it actually kinda works! Oh Travolta, tape that stuff down next time, please!

This is shit.
To be fair, Conrad was a short man with short legs, not ideal for running fast.
This is a demo outtake, a song that was not right for her, and discarded...hello youtube, perfect for finding these things out!
Nope that just doesn't work. Good call to pass on it.
So sweet Kotter kicked this mouthy dolts butt.
This is painful. She is sooooo out of tune.
Handsome❤
She was never on key..ha
I respect siskel and ebert but man theres so many things they've said that are just wrong lmfao
belinda was great but the stars aligned when boy meets world decided to do it themselves
lynda and farrah, farrah and lynda! enough said! Funny how conrad was supposedly a fitness freak and yet he smoked and dranked seemingly his entire life? Anyway, of course nowadays even if there were still only 3 to 4 channels, "stars" would never compete in such a show.. Too much ego, to worried about their reputations, how much they are going to get paid, and so on and so on...
Loved WWW and Baa Baa Blacksheep. Bob Conrad, as a person, was an azzhole.
I remember this so well and I was only 9-10. Also, what was Ben Murphy thinking?😂😂😂
The right decisions were made with how the song ended up.
Charlotte getting up and storming out without saying a word SENDS ME every time ! I can watch that part 10 times in a row and laugh till I cry. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1976 3 networks. 2024 over 200 networks.
1976 “What’s on TV tonight?” 2024 “Everything’s on TV tonight”
Richard Hatch was gorgeous. Rest in peace.
I had a huge crush on Richard Hatch when he was on The Streets of San Francisco ❤
Robert Conrad made good tv! 😊
I don’t know if this was real or not - but I do remember watching this with my Mom & Dad as a kid and my mom thinking it was bs and rooted for ABC.
Gabe Kaplan was a bad ass too he beat Conrad a few times
Anyone know where this skate rink is? If its still open.
Conrad's ego is getting too big again
Yes I am Joe, and ya know why??!!!
asparagus + something else - I know **snaps** *CLOROX*
I love this. The girls pledged to sell 2,000 boxes for a troop of eight or 240 boxes per girl. I think this was the average per scout when this movie came out. What is really interesting is that my troop sold 1,000 cookies per girl so we, 15 girls could all go to summer camp. It took us three months, five professional sports games and ten shopping centers!!!! What a time we had back then! When we went to camp, we each made about ten badges!
Every time I see the Girl Scouts selling cookies at various places around town, I always mention this movie to them, though usually encouraging them to wait until they're about twelve to see it due to the slight amount of profanity, but until then, wish them all the best in their goals so they could enjoy a camp experience. This movie is still one of the funniest and cutest of the 80s. Shelley Long was so funny and adorable, so perfect for the role. ❤
@KeiFox Shelly is from my hometown and is really well-known here. When the movie came out, she had a screening, and people came out in support. Whoa to the mothers of the Brownies who were very religious and didn't let their young children go! 🤣🤣🤣 Poor babies, but when it came out on VHS, most Brownies saw it at home with a sitter or older sibling! So I get it! A friend of mine who was a refugee even sent her a fan letter with a "how to stop a hostile takeover badge" because she was so happy to be in the US! Shelly sent a thank you card! That's how nice she is!
Me in 1989: "I want to be a troop girl" Me in 2024: "I want to be Phyllis Nefler"
Great scene better cinema then today's junk in the cinema.
It may have been better with professional studio recording.Boy Meets Girl did a great job though.
The way she ran out of there made me laugh till I cried!
Original brakes? Jesus christ that's not safe
Am I the only one who noticed that they're wearing the same clothes they wore for the cold open for the 2000 MTV Movie Awards (SATC/Matrix crossover) since Sarah Jessica Parker hosted that year. I wonder if they shot those parts first or after shooting this scene?
Sounds like she is half asleep.
Where is her infamous “head speech”?
Well, that's a bit of a plane wreck.
Too heavy on the percussion.
I prefer the remixes 😂😂😂😂 this Is awful
Great use of Roy Orbison in an 80s teen film. Right up there with Otis Redding in Pretty in Pink... Maybe its a Jon Cryer thing.
Memories of the 80's 😊 No TV channels don't play this movie 🤘😎
You know damn well Bruce Jenner wanted to go down on Bob Conrad right then and there, I could see it in her eyes
1:21-1:25 They Seriously Don't Make Movies Like This Anymore
really cheesey but I was 12 and loved it! Rinks nowadays have turned hip hop ghetto and it is not fun for me. Miss living in NYC as an adult and going to Central Park where the weekend skating circle played skating jams and it was a diverse crowd and so much fun.
A decent demo, wish it had gotten a real master. BMG did a great job with it. Oh of the things that could have been.
These were the days when the series was good and not woke & rubbish like the reboot
SCTV did a hysterically funny skit lampooning this. LOL
Robert Conrad was both a bully and a sore loser. LOL. This was great Television, when it was BIG! So were the STARS and their respective shows. I remember watching this as a kid. Thanks for sharing.
what is the name of this song
ha, i vividly remember watching this when it aired and being struck by conrad's pettiness. i had really liked him in wild, wild west.
Charlotte Kinda reminds me of "Bree Van De Kamp" from Desperate Housewives.......😂😂🤣🤣🤣
With the proper production and vocals, (a la Heaven Is A Place On Earth), this song could have been a smash for Belinda. Alas. we're left with this poor-sounding demo of what could have been. Even so, it's still intruding to hear after all these years.
I love this movie.
