Today was first round of championship run. Car needed to be hot wired at the ignition switch to try and prevent engine failure. We were in northern Maine traveling through some nice coastal communities. Lunch was at the Seal Cove car museum. We did OK today and had a great time traveling from RI to Maine. Nice visit with my wife, brother-in-law and nephew in Providence last night. Today brought a few more challenges but we finished the day. We encountered a hay truck near the end of one of our legs and we couldn’t make up the time so we submitted a time request, form and by doing that we missed out on an ace for that leg 😩. Today was another fun day on the road. Weather started out at a cool 56 degrees and got up to mid 90s. Alfa is performing well in all conditions. Great mountain runs today, an unbelievable catered lunch at one of the great racers farm in Purceville, VA (amazing garage and car collection in videos), free gas after lunch at a local station and we cruised into Gettysburg, PA. Day three of the race included a couple of missed stops, some fast passes, a near deer strike and a fourth place finish for rookies.  The food at the reception towns has been great, and the crowds continue to be amazing. Tomorrow we try for a better finish, but we’re doing pretty well for a rookie team!

Well, today was our first full day of two complete races. We had rain, heat and a 35 minute delay at a railroad crossing. The town receptions in Lancaster and Marietta Ohio were awesome. It’s like a presidential parade pulling into some of these towns really cool. Be sure to watch the videos to see some of the start stops check-in’s and receptions in the towns. See y’all soon

Today was our first official day for the race. We spent a few hours in downtown Owensboro with the cars on display and then we were off. We had a couple missed turns during the day which messed up our time but we corrected and ultimately finished safely in downtown Lawrenceburg, IN. TCC Great Race Rally School Day 062124 v2

Today we started off with mandatory meeting, rally school and into our first timed race. For rookies we did ok placing 6th out of 40 for a total of 34 seconds off the exact time. Evening included BBQ dinner, auctions to raise money for the X-cup teams (watch the auctioneer 🤣), first place plaques for the trophy run and a few minutes in the waterfront checking out some live music. Would you expect anything except these antics for our first day 😜. Alfa needed some attention to the brakes and found a leaking wheel seal at the same time. Local parts store had what we needed and the boys at CaNe customs helped us get the car ready for the race! Thanks for Carl and his team at the shop for everything.
