    I think this is a good study. I would like you to see what 90 units at planting 2x2x2 plus sidedress at v6 to v8 does compared to planting 2x2x2 plus v3 sidedress. I think the key with v6 to v8 application via y drop is that you need sufficient N for setting rows around by v5 to v8.

    THNAK YOU!!! I have been trying to research this so much, with very few helpful results. I grew sweet corn this year. Its growing size/speed wise fantastically. BUT, this past week (Julst4th. it was unusually hot for over a week straight here in zone 5 Maine) we noticed our stalks are turning red in large areas. Leaves are all nice green colored. But it was alarming to say the least. You'r video has been very informative for this long time home gardener, first time sweet corn grower (its grown everywhere here, so i always bought mine from farm stands. But this year i gave it go myself lol ) I cant thank you enough for this.

      @@TyFulford Acres/hour will vary depending on a multitude of factors, however the speed was always the same. Our drone fungicide applications were made at 15mph which is within the range that most commercial drone pilots are applying fungicides. We hope this clears up any questions or concerns regarding the drone applications in our studies!

    This is ONLY possible with the precise placement the EaxactEmerge planter attains with it's 100% control of each seed from 'capture' in the seed bowl cell right through the transition from bowl to brush belt and the "dead drop" delivery in to the seed trench!! All this with accuracy actually increasing at ground speeds up to as fast as 13 miles per hour!!

    Don’t you have to follow product labels as related to carrier rates when applying fungicides or are drones exempt?

      Good question! We always make sure to follow labels for each product we test in PFR. Most fungicides we test don’t have carrier rate restrictions, however there are some on the market that do. The drone carrier rates are very similar to what an airplane would use, if not higher. So any fungicide that can safely be applied with a plane, can be applied with a drone. Hope that answers your question!

    Have any thoughts on Sulfur? I’ve read to get it on early. Need a separate application for sulfur if you are gonna hold off on the N until later? If you are gonna split apply should you put all the sulfur on up front or split it same as the N?

    Do you have a PFR study comparing 200lbs NH3 applied in fall vs 2x2x2 applied in spring?

      Yes, we have a new study this year that is comparing a full N rate of fall NH3 vs. a 2x2x2 f/b sidedress program. See all the different treatments below. Treatments o 190 units Fall NH3 o 130 units Fall NH3 + 60 units UAN 2x2x2 o 130 units Fall NH3 + 60 units UAN sidedress @ V3 o 130 units Fall NH3 + 60 units UAN 360 Y-DROP @ V8 o 60 units UAN 2x2x2 + 130 units UAN sidedress @ V3

    (IF) We know that N is not always N. And some N is more easily absorbed and used by the plant. Would soy meal be a possible replacement for N? This N already being a protein and bacteria, not leaching or evaporating gas N. How about strip tilling soy meal a few inches deep?

      That’s a very interesting question but not currently something we have tested. The main issue that would need to be defined is the release timing of the nitrogen relative to the need of the plant somewhat like the degradation of cover crop residue.

      @@BecksHybrids OK. One suggestion is to put 20 gal. UAN W/ planter side by side by side. With varying amounts of soy meal 5 to 8 inches deep in the row. 200/ 250/ 300/ 400 lbs per acre. I have other ideas that could spin off this. But not now. Remember that with these new Soy plants coming on line and cattle herd at record lows, Soy meal will need to find a new home. Fake meat to satisfy the idiot woke is not helpful or wise.
