My name is Laurent Auer and I live in Basel.
I started planespotting in 2007 and have collected my videos just for myself for many years. But many asked for my videos, so I started a CZcams channel. Since then, whenever possible, I have tried to be there with my camera when special activities can be seen at the LFSB. Especially aircraft from before the 1990s are my specialty.
I am mainly active at Basel Airport (Euroairport) but can sometimes be found at other airports.

In this special I present my favorite planes from various categories. First and foremost the best plane of all time, the Douglas DC-3, an aircraft that was only built from 1935-1945 but has not yet been replaced by a more modern plane (except the BT-67).
Some planes are not in the video because I don't have any recordings, e.g. the Concorde and Tupolev Tu-134, which I never got to see, but at least with the Tu-134 there is still a very small hope.

New and old planes on this sunny Sunday. Flydubai has been flying from Basel to Dubai since Friday. The actual reason for my visit to the airport, however, was the 50-year-old Learjet 36 (unfortunately I completely missed the landing because I was distracted).

A great guest this afternoon (July, 27th) at the EAP. The Antonov An-12BK UR-CNN arrived in Basel from Cairo today. It will operate a cargo flight to Helsinki tomorrow.

As a colleague was going on holiday, the two test flights of the T7-LOTUS and the A6-PFK came in handy. Otherwise I would only have had to go out for the easyJet.

A long sunny day at Euroairport. I actually only wanted to be at the airport at night, but the surprise visit of the government plane from the Democratic Republic of Congo messed up my plans. Another "highlight" was the fourth Airbus A330 from Kuwait Airways for the Canadian Air Force arriving in Basel.

Yesterday 33°C and today only 20°C. The star of the day would have been better suited to yesterday's weather. The HA-KAY from Fleet Air came to Basel on a cargo flight for the second time this week. Exciting lighting today! A strong low pressure area transported sand from the Sahara far into Europe, the light is filtered through the dust which is why everything shines in sepia tones. But my visit was mainly to see the newly painted Boeing 757-200 VP-BBE.

The second flight back to New York with the art objects from Art Basel on board of an AeroLogic Boeing 777-F in DHL livery, forced me to the airport that Sunday evening. I missed the first flight on Friday afternoon.

A bit wet and grey today, but with colourful planes. I was able to take what were probably the first videos of the new Boeing 737-9 MAX BBJ from Reliance Industries. The T7-LOTUS came to Basel a year ago for cabin fitting.

Kaum zu glauben, dass so ein toller Flugtag heute noch möglich ist.
Man darf halt nur noch so fliegen wie man darf und nicht mehr so wie es toll währe aber ansonsten sehe ich keinen Grund so etwas nicht mehr durchführen zu können. Die Vorführachse wurde abgeändert im gegensatz zu früher.
Die Lage des Flugplatzes ist einmalig.❤

Kann man videosequenzen ergattern? Ich würd gern was basteln, ich hab den Anflug und der Abflug der Patrouile Swiss über die Fringeli nach Laufen und von Laufen weg Richtung Aarau über den Vogelsberg
Man kann 😅 Ausschnitte zu verwenden ist erlaubt, man darf dan aber gerne die Quellen angeben. Vieleicht reklamiert dann CZcams aber denke nicht.

Ich denke wen es einen geigneten und günstigeren ersatz gäbe währen die längst nicht mehr im Einsatz. Aber aktuell ist die Flugzeugindustrie ja nicht in der Lage flugzeuge zu bauen die, die alten beliebten Maschinen ablösen können. Siehe DC-3, Boeing 757, An-12......
