I’ve never seen an industry so hell bent on not making sales.. there are thousands and thousands of people wanting to live on sailboats full time, looking to buy a sailboat, and there are scores of boat manufacturers selling boats in the single/low double digits each year, with the capacity to be in the triple digits. Doesn’t anybody in this industry want to make money? I know it’s the banks, but this has been a problem for literally forever, we don’t have any rich bankers/finance people that see what I see… you finance QUALIFIED buyers, if they don’t pay, their boat gets repossessed, really its very simple. If they don’t return it willingly, it’s reported as stolen and they get arrested in some bum fuck port somewhere in a 3rd world country. Pay your bills, keep your boat. What will the bank have lost in that scenario? They will have a new boat, that holds its value extremely well, and a bunch of relinquished payments for the person dumb enough to not make their payments. Let’s say 2 years of payments and the buyer stops paying after that, let’s be reasonable and call it $4000 a month, $48000 a year, $96000 for the first 2 years. You rented a boat for 2 years, were paid $100,000, and now you have a boat that would sell for basically what one sells for brand new, you lost nothing, one would argue that’s good business for the bank. How expensive would it be to have gps on a boat that’s owned by the bank? Not very. How difficult would it be to sail a boat that’s been placed in repossession and reported stolen? Very difficult.
I wish buying these boats was a simpler process.. I make good money, I have great credit, it shouldn’t be such a chore. I can get a mortgage on a million dollar home any day of the week, but a 300-400k boat that I plan on living on full time, good luck! Go get a mortgage, stretch yourself a little thinner, have more responsibilities in a home you’re not going to be living in, and then we will consider loaning you money to buy a boat. At this point I think I’m just going to buy it in cash, fuck the boat industry it’s so fucking weird and backwards, no offense.
that exterior design reminds me of a spaceship. very cool sailboat
The Sailing Family - CZcams Channel's old boat. The channel is now called "Seth Hynes". Their boat was damaged (I'm sure the current seller disclosed this). Seth's March 2021 episode shows the damage. Seth is now President of HH Catamarans. Should be a great boat.
It is a great boat and yes has a well documented history of cruising the world. Great channel to follow if you have kids. The current owners also have a family and well suited.
It was always Seth Haynes @The sailing Family the youtube channel. If you followed the channel the boat was damaged and repaired to perfection 👌 It's well documented and no doubt in the survey papers when Seth and Elizabeth sold it to the current owners
What is the price tag?
Love this. Keep videos coming.
Thank you! Will do!
If only it was at Rozelle Bay again such a nice Catamaran
Still haven't sold it. 😮
The owners have been cruising Fiji and Vanuatu and getting closer to moving off in August.
This is the boat from the UTube channel the owner took a job selling sailboats.
Beautiful boat
Archer has an incredible history and it would be amazing to own her! Check out The Sailing Family with Seth Hynes, the President of HH Yachts. youtube.com/@thesailingfamily?si=tdWXMau9qUIBmaSp
Why is called 1170 when it's 11.9 meters. Should you have called it 1190
According to the specifications that I read boat weight 9000kg bridge deck clearance 700mm. Is the boat weight light displacement. No fuel water etc. What is the max weight of food water fuel it can carry. How much does this reduce the bridge deck clearance
My interest is really peaked at the Expedition Sunrise III; Simple, but would love 3 chart screens at flybridge. I did not notice any domes, or antennas; or did I overlook something What would be the finished cost with 9k liters or 14 k liters? Besides new price, what is the Australia VAT on a expedition Power Catamaran like the Sunrise iii Will appreciate a response, please

How does the jib self tack? Thanks
With my self tacking crew accessory 😬
Port side bow in the cupboard there appears to be a pipe Does anybody know what that is.
Yes it’s a hanging rail for jackets etc in the forward wardrobe locker 👍
Vraiment dommage que HH fabrique en Chine....
Russ mention he had a "rough" plan for the future. Traveling to Japan and on to Alaska. What's the travel distance of this boat? Any chance he could share his potential stops / layovers for the that trip. I'm curious of distance and diesel availability in those regional areas.
How many knots of wind was that?
Never trust a wireless remote…always wired
Is there another video about the factory coming? this one was so short.
Verey nice vessel
Hello Doug :) What about rotating mast? Why did you choose fixed one? Thanks so much for your sharing about 4x!
Your explanation of reverse bouncy is wrong.
Do they do a furling main mast??
These satellites only last 6-8 years iirc, so they need 10s of thousands of them up there to cover the earth but they also need to constantly be replacing them.
HH catermerans. Delos 2.0 build is underway.
You have no clue what fraction of CZcams watchers would be able to get such vessels, do you? It's okay, as there is no pills to fix it, just live with it
I refuse to pay for moorage!!
No room for washer and dryer combo
Yes there is under the starboard aft bed 👍
Buy a bigger model or go home 😭
What would the cost be for the HH50 OC, the HH50 SC Carbon? I do not mind one that is a year or 2 old, if there are any available. I am not looking to wait a year+ for one to be made, unless I have to.
Would long-range ever consider making a 38 for single sailor?
The 40ft Longreach 1200 could possibly be made as a sedan style without flybridge to keep it simple for the short handed
seems like a great option for bouncing around the Caribbean, but what are the opinions of it as an ocean crossing, circumnavigator. Liveaboard.
It has all of the hallmarks of a solid ocean passage maker. Complete resin infused foam core build all glassed together so very rigid. Plenty of reserve buoyancy for off the breeze sailing down big seas. Fidel motors with great fuel capacity then its counterparts. Water collection on the roof. Good living spaces and good cabins. Lesser boats have circumnavigated. A 40 footer used to be considered the ideal size anyway.
Where was Ruby Rose 2? Not invited?
wrong part of the world...they are about 5,000 miles away :-)
Lovely boat! Would love to see this on the water.
Great video Great info, description and explanation Lovely couple Ty
Nice boat. Uncompromising design, go get em Gary!
Beautifull boat, nice guy

race boats like the americas cup yachts have the same mast system in jacking them up
