@@HSTRTGMS I do not have the guitar anymore. The veneer was easy. It cost like $10 for the sheet and maybe $5 for the binding glue. I had sand paper to level out the headstock. I just hand scrapped it when the glue was dry, and drilled the holes for the tuners. I would never pay a tech to work on my guitars. There are so many resources on CZcams for how to videos. The only time I’ve paid someone was to refret a 1992 Les Paul. I haven’t ventured in to refret work yet, and I sure wasn’t going to use 1992 Les Paul as my first experiment.

I’ve never played a Takamine GC5/GC6.

Years ago, you could search the internet and download an update app with all the factory presets. You could then connect to your computer via midi, and restore. I’m sure it’s still out there somewhere. I used to have the actual factory cassette and cable that I connected to a tape player to restore.

@Davidlovesmusic311 - I forgot to retune before I made this video. This was years ago when I was new to posting videos. I have since learned not to post any demos because there are too many wonderful video demos of amps with dropped tuning, cranked gain, and multiple effects pedals in the chain that people can really hear the perfect pitch tuning and the true tone of the amps.

@Davidlovesmusic311 - Since there were no speakers raining down from heaven, I replaced the amp with a ‘59 Bassman instead.

@@Agent_napkin most of the guitars I order are already broken because I buy them to fix. Sweetwater Sound has the best packing of any equipment. Sweetwater always double boxes their guitars with large amounts of packing materials. Musician’s Friend and Guitar Center often have terrible packing.

@@sherrill8252 I like the flavor of crispy browned eggs when I use real butter. It’s like a grilled cheese sandwich without the bread. Eggs browned in oil do taste as you described, but in butter, I like the flavor.

I no longer own this amp, but if I remember correctly this is a “high power” and “low power” switch. It should not be switched while powered on. This essentially makes the amp 1/2 power (50 watts) in the LO setting, and full power (100 watts) in the HI setting. There isn’t much audible volume difference between a 50 watt tube amp (1/2 power) and a 100 watt (full power) tube amp. The HI setting would give you more clean headroom, and the LO setting would give you more tube saturation and earlier “breakup.” Even on the LO setting it would likely cause hearing damage before you got to power tube breakup. All Fender Twin amps were designed to be loud, clean, and clear from the stage volume back before the days of massive mic’ed up PA systems.

Yes. The cable plugged in to channel 1 and then over to plugged in to channel 2 is the jumper cable.

@fabiandeleon4636 the service manual has very detailed instructions on what frequencies and levels to use to adjust the internal trim pots. I just used the frequency generator in my DAW and sent the signal to the appropriate inputs.

Very cool. It’s awesome finding “the one.” I’ve owned dozens of guitars over the years, and my “the one” is a beat up broken 1991 Les Paul Standard that I bought from Tom Holkenborg’s (Junkie XL) Reverb Shop a while back. The headstock was snapped, and I repaired it my self. It just has a cool mojo vibe when I play it.

It would be impossble to work on any of the circuit boards without removing the amp chassis. Before you dive in too deep, you could try spraying some Deoxit D5 contact cleaner in the switch, and moving the switch back and forth between the settings to clean the contacts. The switch may just be dirty and not making good contact.

@@connorthurston6652 I would, but I don’t have a different bass amp to compare it with. For jamming in a practice space with a guitar player and drummer (blues rock band), I don’t need to turn up past 4 with both channels bridged to rattle the walls un-mic’ed. If you are gigging, the house is going to mic your amp anyway.

They basically are the same fans that you have in a computer. They are really easy to access and clean. I use a vacuum first to get the major dust, and then use some compressed air to get the rest. Don't let the fans spin crazy out of control when you use compressed air. I usually gently hold the fan with one finger to keep it from spinning when I am vacuuming and using compressed air.

Yes, but it would require making a new wiring harness. A ‘59 Bassman LTD is 2 ohms (4 x 8 ohms speakers in parallel). Each individual speaker is wired to an RCA plug to connect to the amps 4 RCA connectors. You could make a wiring harness to wire the 4 - 8 ohms speakers in series + parallel to make 8 ohms. There are many CZcams videos and websites that go in depth on wiring speakers and ohms matching. If your Marshall is a tube amp, it is critical to match the ohms output of the amp with the ohms of the speaker cabinet. Your Marshall would require a 8 ohms setting.

@rmkk89 You’re welcome. It’s fairly easy to build a wiring harness, just make sure you reference and check your resources to ensure you are wiring the speakers to the correct ohms for your amp.

The pickups should not be wobbly.
