The French word for green must be blue.
I have spent many happy ski holidays in Megeve and Saint Gervais but I just don't seem to recognise any of the lifts or pistes. Has it changed much over the last 10 years? I would genuinely like to know.
Kind of steep for a green, more like a mild blue.
Not him starting to go down the red run half way through 🤣
La première fois je l’ai faite en 20 min en tombant plusieurs fois mdr
What time of day was this recorded? Looks very nice and groomed!
I think it was late morning, around 11:00 or so.
Parts of that 'green' wouldn't look out of place on a mild blue at another resort.
It's true because at St Gervais, the runs cross each other to encourage growth in skills. This run ends at a red or blue run and it's the only way to finish the piste
@@dubs-dad Not really so, if you stick to chateluy, and go across the red clairere, you can then 'green' run all the way down, and the only blue run is the right at the bottom bit of finance to the base of Bettex, then if you are going back to Megeve you can go down the short green heading for the blue poue blanche, to the base of the Monts Rosset chair, and at the top you go down the blue perapacot crossing the red maurice milloz to the princesse gondola base, and then at the top take the green mandarines down to Megeve, and apart from crossing clairere and maurice milloz you don't touch a red.
Ne c'est ça piste Chamois + Tétras? Je pense que La Cha c'est la piste à gauche...
Peut-être. Je trouve le plan des pistes des Houches difficile à suivre en comparant mes vidéos.
Super fun run! Those traverses are wild
Looks amazing. Could you do the 32 black? Curious to see what that looks like.
Unfortunately I'm no longer in Grindelwald and I think 32 black was closed when I was there.
@Skiflicks awesome videos bro. How long were you out there? And how pricey was the trip if you dont mind me asking. Thinking about trying to make a trip out there as well.
@@coryd8814 I was there for 12 days. It snowed just when I arrived so the conditions were great. It was white everywhere, but since then I've noticed the lower regions are without snow. You should check the webcams and snow reports. Switzerland is more expensive than other countries so I spent more per day than places in Austria and France. Check the ski pass rates for Grindelwald to get an idea (www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfrau-ski-region/buy-skipass/ ). I hope you have a great ski holiday!
@Skiflicks thanks for the info man. Lookin forward to your next videos
I went on this piste today and it was so snowy and foggy
Hi, i just booked a ski pass EVASION with entry gate from MEGEVE (Princesse). I would ask you a question...for example: can i go down from Ideal to mont rossot and come back?Or end to "chatelet"(Saint Gervais) end come back. My entry gate Megève (La Princesse, Rochebrune, Mont d'Arbois) That is, with my skypass can I do all 220 slopes even if I end up in Saint Gervais?
Yes. It is possible to go everywhere. To go from IDEAL to MONT ROSSOT and back you would take Prapacot from the top of the MONT ROSSOT lift to the midway of the PRINCESSE lift. You can see this on the ski map: www.skiflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/Saint-Gervais-Ski-Map-1.jpg
Dont know which Mandarine you rode? But neither one meter of Mandarine is heading to L'Ideal ski station! Slope Alpage + Ideal does, but not Mandarine!
Thanks for the comment. From what I can see on the St. Gervais ski map, it looks like Mandarines begins at the top right of the IDEAL ski lift, runs alongside the MANDARINES poma lift, past the bottom of the IDEAL ski lift and then down to the Mt. D'Arbois lift. Have a look at this ski map: www.skiflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/Saint-Gervais-Ski-Map-1.jpg If you know for sure what this piste is, then please let me know and I'll change it. Thanks a lot.
Looks like Mandarine to me. That run carries on but he's cut left down the track back to the Ideal chair lift.
Zapierdalasz. I to bez pedalskiej muzyczki titatit.
👌 Great run
Do you know which lift takes you to the beginning of this video at the top? Thanks.
You can get to the top of piste 85 via the Schindlergrat lift, or take the Valluga 1 lift and ski down. Here's the ski map: www.skiflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/Ski_Arlberg_St_Anton_Zurs_ski_map_large.jpg
Did they change the piste Layout? It was way more steep and bumpy when I was younger (it was also a black run, not a red one) and not groomed at all.
Bit steep for a blue wasn't it, more like a red? But then some resorts call blues reds and vice versa.
This is a blue piste (201 blue). The snow was very slushy, so maybe the skiing looks more difficult than it was. You can find the the piste on this ski map: www.skiflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/Ski_Arlberg_St_Anton_Zurs_ski_map_large.jpg
You can make shorter carves too it is more like to ski
Was here a month ago it was amazing
Nice ! Im from Brasil !
Cool piste 41. You are lucky to ski it. I was 8 times in Soelden but had not no chance to ski along this piste any time because it was not even groomed always and in fact it was only on the piste map. You have a great channel, I like such style videos. Subscribed.
I appreciate the beautiful scenery in the vid! Not much compares to Chamonix
So satisfyng....
Many thanks for sharing these videos. It is great to see around the resort before we arrive!
is it possible to carve with a tighter line instead of going to the other lane?
Yes it is, but then you don't carve as much, so less fun.
If only I could move like that!
I am new to skating. Why would you want to do cross overs mixed with carving? Is it to make going uphill easier?
Cross over carving on inline skates is a very dynamic way to practice the form needed for downhill ski carving. The beauty of it is that you can do carving turns while going on uphill, downhill or flat terrain. In a way it combines alpine (downhill) skiing with cross country skiing. If you're not familiar with skiing, then I can understand why you would ask your question.
@@Skiflicks ahhhh. Thanks. Yea. I skied once over 20 years ago. I will try doing this once I get better at crossovers since my wife wants to ski.
@@rururu5630 Here's another video of mine that gives you a better idea of the cross over carving technique: czcams.com/video/z_72YWFrpFI/video.html
Also, the best way to develop the cross over carving technique is to find an open space like an empty parking lot. Practice skating in circles both clockwise and counter-clockwise until you feel comfortable going in both directions. Then start skating in a figure eight. Skating in a figure eight is the key. The rest becomes a lot easier afterwards.
@@Skiflicks Thanks!!! I will try all that!
couldn't go this wide on the road though. often you can often stick to one side of the road at a time and making such hard turns would be very difficult and wear off the wheels a lot its really relaxing to have so much room and no vehicles. I love it
Yes, it helps to have a wide area to turn (carve) on. I skate on hard wheels and need to change them once a year.
When was this recorded?
This was filmed in the second week of January 2018.
Try pushing more on the outside edge
buss it
I guess this is cross training for skiing and you're probably trying to practice carving cleanly, but it feels a little bit pointless form an inline skating perspective because you aren't applying enough edge for it to be useful for slowing down (when people talk about "carving" in inline skating I guess they usually actually mean something more like short turns rather than carving in the strict sense as in skiing).
This is indeed a technique for practicing ski carving. However, as far as I'm concerned, inline skate carving should be a sport in itself. If you're into gravity sports, this is right up there. In terms of slowing down, check out this other video of mine where you can better see the relationship between inline skate carving and downhill skiing: czcams.com/video/z_72YWFrpFI/video.html
To add a Perspektive.... I think its really fun carving around. In terms of efficiency its obviously not good.
@@blackyraypatrick9041 Efficiency is relative here. I carve on skates to develop my leg muscles and also balance. This skating technique is one of the few sports that give you the force to really build leg muscles, similar to skiing or cycling uphill.
Good video
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Autobahn skiing.
вот почему нас ролеров не любят, занимаем этими маневрами всю дорогу
super the chanel! I am planing 2023 winter in St. Ankton and your videos are super useful + interesting! may be add in the beggining the point of start and end on the 2D map of St.Ankton...
It’s my favorite stas
I like zell am see
Uuugghhh so satisfying to watch
I was on this slope today....this part of St Anton is just amazing. Great skillz by the way 👍👍
Amazing!
I like it that there is no annoying stupid backgound music.
Which piste is this?
Hi, It's piste 1 at the Rendlbahn (St. Anton). Great piste to ski down! I spent most of the day on this one.
i should visit vondelpark for some skate sessions soon lol! If you looking for some challenging stuff check out Haarlemmermeerse Bos - Hoofddorp which has a lot of variations however for this area i would recommend to use a 4x110mm or 3x125mm setup mainly as this size prevents your bearings to catch a lot of dirt while on 4x84mm setup you need to clean after 1 ride.
Thanks for the tip. I'm interested in finding skating paths with enough width to slalom back and forth. Anything wider than 5 meters.
He'll need new wheels very soon !
killjoy
With that way of skating you at least add a more balanced shape for your wheels so that you won't have to turn them all the time.
Nice control :)
Great skills! If I may ask, is that in Vondelpark?
Yes, this is in the Vondelpark.
Came to check that too hehe. Nice carving skills!!
Nice video. I love Zell but that Kapellenbahn lift is an abomination. Never goes up full and the queues are usually terrible. Only sub par lift in resort
