thank you! Tip for the foam interfacing - you can also buy at local hardware. It's underlay foam used for laminate flooring.

@@brandyjackson-beansbags I hate it too I have a Juki du 1181n. Thread got stuck in the bobbin case and my fiancée took out the bobbin and case and has to put it back. I have no idea of how to do myself and I don’t want to do it because I don’t want to ruin it. I’m full of sewing mojo and can’t wait to sew again. There’s so many bags I want to make and I have to baby gifts to make for my goddaughter. It’s her first baby due in November. I made a trailblazer bag a long time ago. It was originally for me but I gave it to her. I used the kitchen floral from Lauren Mormino and blue wpc. Blue is her favorite color so it worked out. I’m going to make a baby quilt, clean up clutch, burp cloths and bibs. Everything is already cut in a bag and just waiting to be sewn.

What kind zipper foot you use I have a Juki DDL-8700-H Individual I’m know to the Juki family I was looking for a zipper foot
I got mine from Central sewing: this one is the left zipper foot for the Titan 1541 and 1341 machines

It was a cotton fabric they was a preorder from fabric impressions paired with a pearl vinyl from galaxy kustoms

Enjoyed learning; need a "teacher's backpack" that offers much room for binders, books, iPad, etc., Can you recommend a pattern? Have found several but they don't offer the "full side to side" zipper like this bag. Have purchased several of this designer's patterns and find all to be well written. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.

I think I've made 5 of those , they are easy to make. I made one with 2 Jellyrolls and it's huge!
This one was 2 jelly rolls too.. well equivalent. 80 strips! It is such a fun and meditative project!

Brandy, I love the idea of leaving the lining bottom open as well as the zipper pocket. I find it difficult to birth a bag through a small hole. I never thought to leave both open and close the lining bottom through the zipper pocket. I imagine we could do this on most bags that have a zipper pocket? TY for the great tutorial.
I do this on all bags!! Saves the arms a lot haha

If you used a decovil light for a stabilizer out of the seam allowances maybe. You will want the structure

I cut my own fabric .. probably 10 to 12 hours or so. It took me 2 days to make the tutorial
I’ve made an oval rug with a jelly roll bundle for my daughter and love how it came out! I’ve got her pattern to make a rectangle rug, I’m going to make one for my laundry room soon. I love your scrappy version, I might do that for mine!
It was fun! And great way to use up scraps!! Almost like a memory rug or bag linings past haha: I think I’m going to do a Christmas tree rug next!
