Corruption in Courts
-The American Anti-Corruption Act (AACA) is a comprehensive legislative proposal aimed at reforming and reducing corruption in the U.S. political system. It was developed by the advocacy group "RepresentUs" in collaboration with legal and political experts, including former Federal Election Commission (FEC) chairman Trevor Potter. The AACA is designed to address the influence of money in politics, improve transparency, and increase accountability in government.
Key Provisions of the American Anti-Corruption Act
1. Ending the Buying of Political Influence:
-Prohibition on Lobbyist Contributions: The Act would ban lobbyists from making contributions to political campaigns or fundraising for candidates.
-Closing the Revolving Door: It would prevent government officials from becoming lobbyists for a certain period after leaving office, aiming to curb the "revolving door" between government and lobbying firms.
-Ban on Lobbyist Bundling: The Act would prohibit lobbyists from bundling donations (collecting contributions from multiple sources and presenting them as a package to a candidate).
2. Preventing Political Bribery:
-Strengthening Anti-Bribery Laws: The AACA would clarify and tighten existing anti-bribery laws to ensure that politicians cannot be influenced by monetary contributions or gifts.
-Limiting Super PAC Contributions: The Act would impose strict limits on contributions to Super PACs, which are often used to bypass campaign finance restrictions.
3. Increasing Transparency:
-Real-Time Disclosure: The AACA would require all political contributions of $200 or more to be disclosed within 48 hours, allowing for near real-time transparency of campaign finances.
-Ending Secret Money: The Act would require organizations spending money on elections to disclose their donors, ending the practice of "dark money" in politics.
4. Empowering Voters:
-Ranked-Choice Voting: The AACA promotes the use of ranked-choice voting, where voters rank candidates by preference, which can lead to more representative election outcomes.
-Gerrymandering Reforms: The Act includes measures to prevent partisan gerrymandering, ensuring that electoral district boundaries are drawn fairly and not manipulated for political gain.
5. Strengthening Enforcement:
-Independent Enforcement: The AACA proposes creating an independent agency or strengthening existing ones like the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to enforce campaign finance laws effectively.
-Criminal Penalties: It introduces stricter penalties, including criminal charges, for violations of anti-corruption laws.
Goals and Impact
The primary goal of the American Anti-Corruption Act is to reduce the influence of money in politics, ensure that elected officials are accountable to their constituents rather than wealthy donors or special interests, and restore public trust in the democratic process.
The AACA has not been passed into law at the federal level, but it has inspired various local and state-level initiatives across the U.S. Some states and municipalities have adopted portions of the Act or have used it as a model for their own anti-corruption legislation.
Advocacy and Support
Represent Us and other advocacy groups have been actively campaigning for the adoption of the AACA or similar reforms, often through grassroots efforts, ballot initiatives, and public awareness campaigns.
The American Anti-Corruption Act represents a significant effort to address the systemic issues of corruption and the influence of money in American politics.

    I’m sorry. But, courts don’t “rip” children away from a parent without a reason. Judges have to make very difficult decisions based on the information they have before them. I wish you peace I hope your situation has a final outcome that is in the best interest of the children. I’m not sure venting your anger on social media is a good plan. Anyway, best wishes.

    Sorry, but you sound like your mentally disturbed and paranoid, or a substance issue, or are just feeling sorry for yourself because the first lady judge seen through your manipulation of the system, and now your here to seek the validation of an uniformed opinion of an anonymous mob to bring back to court for "proof" that you should have won. If all of these "opinions and directives" of people with the power and authority to step in, especially in an abusive situation, are supportive of you and rhe evidence backs you up, he would be in your place. It sounds to me like these unsupported claims of support did not come out of these folks mouth with quite the same sentiment, or words, as the ones that entered your ears, because if they didnt, your delusion dies. Once again, im sorry, but just truth is not determined by ones word alone, but rather with factual evidence in support of ones accusations...

    A bigger problem is not that the attorneys know the judges but the attorneys know that you are one client but that attorney will have dozens of cases in front of the same judge Don't piss off the judge for one client Not necessarily that the lawyer is buddy buddy with the judge-

    • @KristenB.Harmony
      @KristenB.Harmony Před 4 měsíci

      Absolutely, you make a valid point. (As always, because you are brilliant!) it's not just about personal connections between attorneys and judges, but also about the professional relationship and reputation that attorneys maintain with the court. Attorneys often have multiple cases before the same judge, and maintaining a good rapport with the judge is crucial for the effective representation of all their clients. Pissing off a judge for the sake of one client can have far-reaching consequences that may impact future cases and clients. It's all about professionalism, respect, and ensuring that every client receives fair and impartial treatment within the legal system.

  • @pmclaughlin4111

    The court system (and the legal system as a whole) is an adversarial system. It is designed to facilitate "adversaries to argue and clash. Family Court was theorized to add social knowledge into the adversarial system (1901) BUT it is still fundamentally an adversarial system. The system is designed for conflict and has been for more than 500 years (Yes, back to Elizabethan England); lawyers and therefore judges are trained in being adversarial in an adversarial system. In a perverse way, the Court is designed to see conflict as healthy.

      @KristenB.Harmony Před 4 měsíci

      It's understandable to feel frustrated when dealing with individuals who seem unwilling or unable to prioritize the well-being of their family over personal grievances. While there may indeed be cases where selfishness and entitlement play a role in family court disputes, it's essential to recognize that the issues within the system extend beyond individual behavior. Structural flaws, longstanding legal traditions, and societal attitudes also contribute to the challenges faced by families navigating the court process. Addressing these complexities requires a multifaceted approach that combines accountability for individual actions with systemic reform aimed at promoting fairness and justice for all involved.

Also judges are usually retired lawyers which is ridiculous because the same people that make a career out of construing the law in their clients favor are suddenly trusted to interpret the same law objectively

    This is disturbing... there isn't any contempt or anything for the ex husband keeping the kids from her? The GAL program needs to he completely scrapped and redone. They do cause extreme stress. A lot of this lack of governmental controls is the idea of a smaller government. The checks and balance systems fall to the weigh side when the government gets too small. Accountability lacks in this country in many ways, and the judicial system especially lacks accountability when it comes to family judges and GALs and all that.
