After you get the appliques on how do they hold up after washing?
🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 I really enjoyed your presentation this evening for Royal City Quilters’ Guild in Guelph Ontario Canada. Your quilts are beautiful and the colours show so much better in this video. I love your animals and have done similar small quilts using the grid interfacing but without any appliqué. One is a vase with flower fabric and I plan to do some appliqué over the flower fabric. One of my UFOs!
Hello DeeDee, we will be sure to pass on your message to Timna.
You have a very pleasing voice to listen to and you explained this tutorial so very well. Thank you. A few years ago I saw your table runner tutorial, I bought all the fabrics I needed to make it and never did. I'm determined to make it now. More tutorials from you would be wonderful!!
Hello Barabara. Thank you for the nice comments. We hope that you do make your table runner soon. Please share it with us on Instagram @olidohome; we'd love to see it.

What about "inside" the iron?? Is it ever necessary to add vinegar in the water reservoir and when hot, use "steam", then rinse?
Hello, It is only necessary to clean the inside of the iron, if it becomes clogged with scale from hard water, reducing the steam output. This is recognized by a white build up around the steam holes or white flakes coming out with the steam. The best way to clean this is fill the iron with just water, turn the iron to cotton/linen and when hot unplug and turn the steam to maximum and push the burst as steam as much as possible. Be careful doing this, as hot water and steam with the scale will wash out of the holes. Its best done over an old towel or the sink. This process can be repeated several times to the scale has been removed. We do not recommend using vinegar or descaling liquid in the irons, as this can damage the surface of the steam chamber.
❤
I just finished watching your video. You made it look so easy but I will try your method you demonstrated so eloquently. It's for a small project I am working on so I should be able to do it. Thank you.
Marcia Dersee!
don't waste your money on the iron that does tricks... not worth it and it leaks... go to any quilting site and ask - they will be honest and tell you - they LEAK - and they don't care- one lady has had hers replaced 3 times in 18 months because of leaking- mine was a gift so i don't know where it was bought or what store so they won't replace mine- don't get one- you've been warned
Love it! This is exactly what I was looking for.
We're glad it was helpful. Goodluck with your project.
I know this video is a few years old but I just wanted to let you know..I got your button book at an estate sale last year and started making button flowers with my husband's collection of buttons. Since that start my daughter and I have made many button bouquets with vintage buttons and broken jewelry in vintage and newer containers and have them on Etsy under Redreamed Treasures. I have probably made several thousand button flowers in this last year and am always on the lookout for cool buttons . Thanks for the inspiration found in your book...
Hello Cindy, We're pleased to hear that you were inspired by Amy's video. We will pass along your message to her.
@@olisoinc thank you
They replaced my first iron because even though I followed directions, it leaked. My second iron, the replacement is spewing I guess calcium, and I am using spring water. Would never ever purchase one of these again.
We're sorry to hear about your Oliso iron leaking and dropping particles. As long as the iron is not damaged, leaking usually occurs for one of two reasons: first, the iron is not hot enough to make steam, and second, the overuse of the burst of a steam button. Always ensure the iron is at the hottest linen/cotton setting and the green indicator light has stopped flashing and shows solid green before steam ironing. Also, always switch the variable steam off when ironing at a lower temperature. When using the burst of steam, always allow a short pause between pushes of the button to let all the steam escape so it does not condense in the steam chamber and cause a leak. Stop using the burst of steam when the indicator light flashes. White particles dropping from the iron are most likely scale caused by minerals in the water. Generally, we recommend using regular tap water in our irons unless it is very hard, in which case we suggest mixing it 50:50 with distilled water. Never use pure distilled water. Cheap bottled spring water with a low mineral content is another option. We hope this is useful, but please don't hesitate to contact Oliso consumer service, who will be happy to try to resolve the issue. Can I use an old sweater to make iron on letters? Does the fabric matter?
A light weight sweater fabric may work. You will need to use the Ultra Hold Heat n' Bond and I would test a small piece on another fabric first. Let us know how it goes! Michele Muska

@olisoinc what is the difference between the TG1050 vs TG1600? I OWN A BLUE 1050 SINCE 2016
tap or distilled water?
Hi Jet, The mini iron is designed to use regular tap water. If you have very hard water we recommend mixing half-and-half with cheap bottled filter or spring water. Never use distilled water in the iron as this can cause it to leak.
hello. that is epic unboxing- fellow-:)
Nice!!!
thank you for sharing, I never knew you can make your own appliques

@@adaclemons5305 I'm going to try the Panasonic cordless with dock.
Would have been nice to be told if the iron is hot or cooled off. This was worthless and I never had to clean my sole plate after 2 weeks before
@@kathys71201Of course it is done on a cool/cold iron.
