I just bought a set of Vietnamese made tires (manufactured by Saluun), to replace the Korean made tires (Nexxen) on my mexican built American car.

Nearly all used tires listed on Marketplace don't show the DOT date clearly in the 5:56 photos.

One person on YT claims the rubber in Chinese tires hardens as they age. Therefore performing worse as they age. I'd like to know if this is true.

Had a set of 4 new Chinese tires on my Mountaineer. Within a month, 2 failed, basically 7-10 days apart. the layers delaminated making it feel like the SUV was galloping. Absolute garbage.

Bought 4 tires at Costco on August 2023 for my 2015 ToyoCamryXLE FWD. I must say they're so much.. so much better than OE Michelin Primacy MXM came with it. The Camry is a bit of soft side on the suspension for comfy but I wanted a bit stiffer for better handling and this Firestone AS V2 deliver plus quieter cabin noise even cruising at 80 mph on Texas toll road. Tread wear is great so far because I rotate those tires and check tires pressure at every DIY oil change and driving in thunderstorm rain at 65 mph is confident I can say. So far I've got 2 nails on highway around 70 mph with slow leaks and easy fix with tire plugs from Walmart then hit the road again. I've put over 3000 miles on these tires and I think I've found a winner and at affordable pricing. Shops around whenever y'all need tires unless emergency.

I have used these tires in the winter in the Yukon with snow up over the bumper and other bad conditions and they are the best winter tires I have used all across Canada

This video is utter nonsense. EV tyres wear far less quickly than ICE equivalents. They also wear brakes far less quickly. Weight has very little to do with it unless the car is being driven aggressively and most EV drivers don’t do that because of the range penalty. I’ve been an EV driver since 1998 and have covered 130,000 miles in two cars, but sold both on their original (and still legal) tyres and original brake pads. Most EV drivers will have similar stories. This comment isn’t about defending EV’s over any other vehicle technology however it is necessary to speak out when videos like this misinterpret research reports and use them to mislead viewers.

As long as china is ruled by an aggressive communist regime, of course it makes a huge difference if you support it or not by a) outsourcing you production there b) sharing your technologies and c) buying their products.

A channel for fellow tire nerds. Cool! I have been using the WR for about 20 years. 4th or 5th set. First 2 or 3 on a crv and currently first set on a Crosstrek. They never last more than about 65k km. The prorated warranty has mostly come through for me. I am not hard on them, rotate them regularly and keep them properly inflated. I think that the compromises just don’t allow 100k. Granted, I don’t have first hand experience with other brands over a long period but I think tread wear warranties are marketing fluff. That said, I still think these are great tires. The winter safe tread depth is gone on mine now with a year or two of dry tread left. Kind of a bugger with winter coming. I think I will invest in a second winter set, maybe the Nordman North. Then maybe the Outpost when the WRs are done. Nokian seems like a decent brand.

I'm pro all weather. If you know how to drive defensively then all weather tires are all you need. I've had both and of course winter tires are better, however to me didn't seem a whole heck a lot different then all weather tires

Are they safe after the puncture is fixed after they did run flat? or must be replaced because exhausted?

I don't really think the average consumer cares where the tire is made. As long as the quality is good, performs as advertised, and the price is agreeable, who cares what country it was made in? They make tires in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Russia, Turkey, etc.

I bought Goodyear Wintercommand winter tires in 2019. It was stamped on the side. Made in Brazil.

I have 2 sets of tires all weather and dedicated winter I use the all weather most of the year up until winter starts getting bad then switch to my dedicated winter tires Blizzak. And switch back to my all weather tires near the end of winter. Saving unnecessary wear on my winter tires and still have the benefit of a winter rated tire in the first and last part of winter driving

Chinese tires suck most good tires are not made in china. Most tires are in general from us are not from china

My rich uncle bought a Bentley and he drove to visit my grandmother during the Chinese New Year but end what calling a tow truck to towed it back to the workshop. 😂

So basically its the best all weather tire. Everyone knows dedicated winters are best and the pothole warranty is a bonus. I would like to see them head to head with the Cross Climate 2's but Ill uave to make a choice before rhat happens im sure.

Keep your money in North America. Buy Local. Unless you cant afford not too.

Most Chinese car tyres are hard compound, in summer it can get 40°c or more sometimes where I live, let tyres warm before testing their grip & they are fine, in winter snow tyres, if I own some type of powerful sports car maybe I would spend more, but I have 2.7 V6 estate diesel, not had any problems with Chinese tyres in nearly 9 years, & just over half price from marketed brands.......keep the tyres coming China 😊

I used to make michelin tires. They used machines from the 1930's and charge the highest prices. 😂

I got brand new Michelin latitude tire and in couple hr on road after acceration the rubber easily peel out due to the compound too soft therefore we have a confort ride

I like the video but I find the cutaway shots where you're not looking at the camera really distracting - I have no clue why video makers do this - if you are speaking to me its nice if you're also looking at me - and I'm saying that as someone with autism for whom doing that isn't automatic! 😅 Good video though and I agree with the point that goods made in China are not necessarily poor quality - that's no more true than goods made in Europe or the US are always good quality.

Best winter tire I ever had. Worked better than any winter tire I ever had. Worked at minus 55 C in the Yukon

get the cross climate 2s instead

My Metzler ‘German brand’ motorcycle tyres had Made in China on them. They wore well and had good grip. No issues here.

Been looking at videos and reviews of this tire. Looking to put the 19" tires on all 4 corners of my Audi allroad!!! Would love to find a more comprehensive version that sgows how they really do in the real world. Highway, dry/wet/snow vs offroad sand/dirt/mud etc? I do a lot of highway driving, but also go offroad(ish) in the allroad, but i also do snow storms too. Wondering if this tire would fit the bill or if winter tires for snow still be required 🤔

I used to work at a tire company Mitchelin took it over but in 2009 they closed The Chinese were always trying to steal the technology from this company. How to improve? There tires. China's tires were constantly exploded in china. Chinese tires. You're taking a chance they're junk? Sometimes you might get lucky. But you're taking a chance on Chinese tires. The only real Asian tire that is worth a c*** is Yokohama. Yokohama is a good tire they been making tires for l believe i seen something like 75 or years. Yokohama is a good tire company.

Can't you just look at the tires and find out where they were made?

I agree that it doesn't matter where items are manufactured as long as the "recipe" is followed that is dictated by the company using the manufacturing power of China. The issue with Chinese tire to me are the tread patterns look similar to other top brands, easy to copy and slightly alter the tread pattern. Biggest issue and what really makes a tire good or bad is the rubber compounds, or recipe, if you will. This is a closely guarded secret by top brands and something Chinese tires have not been able to match yet. There tires start out strong but quickly give up some traits much earlier than top brands, like performance in the rain, II find Chinese tire compounds harden quicker than top brands and this can make them potentially more dangerous in the wet after only 20 to 30 thousand kms. This is just something to keep in mind. Formula 1 tires have extremely close guarded compounds so much that the teams using them have no idea the make up. Choose wisely.
