The reality in the business of motorcycles is that if they continue to restrict bikes in software to meet government restrictions, people will reflash them to get the bike they really paid for. It’s not reasonable for a company like BMW to design and engineer a bike that works best with no restrictions, but has to be restricted to sell in some markets, knowing that virtually all of their customers will reflash the bike to get what they paid for. This will definitely stop me from buying a BMW…. Which is unfortunate because I am in the markey *RIGHT NOW* for a bike like the M1000XR and the R1300GS.
