Squid snack
Hannah recently hit her year-end goal of 200 dives marking 100 dives completed in 6 months time!
She had yet to see a squid at Nubble this summer but was rewarded at the very end of her dive with this little squid friend who had found itself a good sized snack!
Congratulations Hannah! You'll have to up your goal for the year. ;)

Mola Mola in New England!
zhlédnutí 43Před 14 dny
Sometimes despite poor visiblity, we are rewarded with unexpected encounters like this one! Hannah Wood and her buddies were diving for lobsters off of Mitchell Rock in Rockport, MA when a large shadow appeared. Hannah stayed in place while this friendly Mola Mola, otherwise known as an ocean sunfish, circled around her and passed by around 4 times before carrying on its way. 'It was a really c...

Maura Keane visited the Pinthis, a shipwreck 100ft down near Situate, MA. The Pinthis, built in 1919, was hit by the Fairfax in 1930 and exploded from all the oil she was carrying. Between the Pinthis and Fairfax, there were 47 reported deaths. The Fairfax-Pinthis collision is known to be the most significant loss of life in Massachusetts Bay. 30 minute bottom time and bottom temp was 44°F. Tha...

Giant Torpedo Ray during Night Dive

Our marketing head, Hannah Wood, came across this big (approx 4ft) Torpedo Ray on a night dive at Nubble (York, Maine). In fact, her dive buddy, bumped into it very unexpectedly and he got a nice shock. Torpedo Rays are the largest known electric rays and the only ones found in New England waters. They are not aggressive but CAN deliver a shock up to 220 volts⚡️

City of Salisbury wreck is now a unique debris field located outside of the Boston Harbor Islands. The freighter was built in 1924 in England and was later grounded on Grave's Ledge, allowing the crew and cargo be removed. She had been carrying exotic animals, including 20 pythons, 40 cobras, 300 monkeys and 20 crates of rare birds. The day after she was grounded, the stress of the tides caused...

Luis' Dive Lounge Lessons- Lanes Cove MA
zhlédnutí 156Před rokem
We interviewed our contributor, Luis Figueroa, about the ins and outs of diving Lanes Cove in Gloucester, MA. Lanes Cove is a great place to dive when it works out. There is limited parking here so the earlier you can get here the better chance you have of grabbing a spot. The entrance can be dicey as there are wet slippery rocks so we highly recommend this site during high tide. It's also not ...
SCUBA Diving the VERY tidal Piscataqua River in NH
zhlédnutí 564Před rokem
The Piscataqua River's current can rage. Couple that with some heavy boat traffic during peak SCUBA diving season, it's a good idea to stay away unless you have your technique down to a t. Everything during this dive needs to be perfect- buoyancy, tide times, dive plan etc. When all works perfectly, the Piscataqua River offers a very unique experience.
