No disrespect to you personally or your fine tutorial but it defines all logic to me that any country still wants to stick to the imperial system instead of transitioning to metric! 🤣 sheesh 9/32nds plus 14/16ths + 4/8ths.... I understand that it's hard to get used to something new ('m in my 60s from the UK so I know about it first hand) but metric is sooooo much simpler. You use the metric for your currency in America but stopped there 🤪

Thank-you. This a superb step-by-step practical overview of cabinet design, and then ties it all together by showing how the simplified, rational design leads to an organised and successful (less stressful!) glue-up. I have been building similar logic into an Excel worksheet, so that it can calculate the cut-list for each cabinet. Overlaying your methods and formulas on what I've done so far will be helpful. New subscriber! It also served to lay bare a couple of errors I made while completing a glue-up just last night. I used Titebond I rather than Titebond III, thereby critically reducing my working time, and I had cut the dados too tight, leaving no room for glue and causing the loss of critical time fitting the pieces together. Lessons learned!

Hello, Mr Wilson! I just found your channel when this video dropped. I guess the CZcams ghosts knew I needed to have another teacher! I do have a question about using a jointer, if you have a minute to answer. I have my Dad’s old (he bought it new somewhere between 1977 and 1980) Craftsman 4” jointer. My question is how much downward pressure should I apply as I run stock through? I seem to consistently end up with a thinner board at one end, by upwards of 1/16th of an inch. I always take the thinnest cut setting at 1/32”, I use parallels and a torpedo level to set my infeed table height to the top height of the blades, I use a depth gauge to set the outfeed table height, I keep all shavings cleared away and I keep my blades clean and sharp. I’ve deduced the issue has to be down to me. Well, I think it’s me, anyway 😂 I feel like I use a steady pressure along with a steady pace but I’m not getting the correct result. Could you share any insight as to the possibility of where I am using the machine incorrectly? Thank you in advance for your help and understanding!

I really get a lot out of them and learn new things every time I watch them do you do one on one private lessons by any chance lol you really get into a lot of detail and go step-by-step on every thing this is by far one of the if not the most detailed informative as well as entertaining videos that’s not boring but keeps my interest and still able to get a lot out of it. Dont forget to put the smallest chippers and all shims next to the first blade because some might fall into the threads and screw things up.

Hi very nice video i just bought a real heavy band saw 180cm highth and trying to set this machine up properly. But i have a qwestion bout how round should the upper weel rubber surfes be? The 2 rubber tires are new bought from USA so new rubber tires on the up and down weel. It would be nice to have this explained to me. Is it even possible to have these weels flat? and not rounded. My weels is like this the upper weel rounded with a little edge in the midle of the tires. The guy before me did this because he thought it was rigt. Dont think its corect or am i wrong here? And how in that case shoult these rubber weels be rounded. and how do you fix this. regards

I am working on a project where I am cutting through 5 inches of material to form a Gothic window with stain glass panels. I’ve refreshed myself multiple times on tracking and looked at many CZcams videos. When it comes to the upper wheel, some suggest that the teeth should be close to the crown others say the blade should be in the center IAM confused.

You my friend remind me of Mr Kendall, my favorite woodshop teacher from the 70's!

I have a grizzly g0555 bandsaw no matter what the blade won’t track in the center. It always moves to the front of wheel I put urathane tires on it didn’t help. I used to have the Lowe’s portercable it did the same thing. I thought it was just a bad saw so I got rid of it and got the grizzly. How do I correct this? Thanks

I’ve never seen it explained this way, and it helped me immensely in tuning up an older jointer. Even on one without an adjustable outfeed, it helps you diagnose the knife height. This is the video I’ve been looking for. Thank you very much, sir!
