In Zionsville PA there is a beautiful caboose restoration that was done by a local family and an intricate G scale train layout that ran around the property. They used to have open houses to allow people to come and view the trains and all the layouts as well as tour the authentic caboose.they haven’t done much with it lately, but may come back in the future.

Meanwhile… Radebaugh Tunnel, on the west side of Greensburg, didn’t meet such a nice fate. At the time of its demise it carried Track #3 of the Penn Central mainline in regular service… until one day in 1972 an engineer spotted a wall of dirt and went into emergency! Turns out that the adjacent coal mine had disturbed the earth to the point of the tunnel’s collapse! At that point Track 3 in the region was forced into immediate retirement. The mine continued as a strip operation for some years, razing and/or filing in the tunnel and bed. At this point in time almost nothing remains of the Track 3 grade or the mining operation, except a junkyard with overpass abutments near the bottom of Mt Thor Road.

This is so cool. I have been collecting old drive in speakers I buy online. The good old days.
Really cool! I have fond memories of going to the drive-in when i was a kid.
Thank you, big help!
Great!!! The last time I was at a drive in was Deer Lake. Now there’s a hospital there. My sister’s been to Shankweiler’s (mind spelling), not sure if that’s even still open.
I loved the campy old movie previews!
Those people up front in the grass with the lawn chairs and blankets have the right idea!
Awesome retro experience!
This is not newly discovered
This was filmed years ago
Why did this jackass abruptly end the video? Tool.
This pretty much just looks like scott County virgina My brothers girlfriend grew up there And said its the best town in ohio Not really much to write home about or whatever that saying is
My high school friend Alan sure miss him
Alan is awesome
So what is the problem what needs to be changed
Ran across this video looking for pics of Cameron Park, which apparently is now gone (as well as the swim club). You can actually see my house in the first part of the video as you looked Left down W. Sharon before you turned Right to go to Forest Chapel's parking lot. This is a crazy blast from the past! I just wish it would have had Cameron Park before they demolished it. But thanks for trying!!
We enjoyed making it 14 years ago. I wish my technology was better back then but I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I’m not sure if you know this, and I don’t know where else to tell you about this, but today is the last day the Krumsville hotel will be open because the state is claiming it for eminent domain. It’s going to become more stuff that’s gone.
The business across the street told me that that could happen, simply so trucks can make a left turn. It makes me sick. I might have to run over there and take a picture and do a post.
is that not part of one of the 1950s extensions? I doubt its the 1940 roadway.
It’s between Irwin and New Stanton and yes, it is part of the first 3 miles of the 1940 section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike

I grew up there. I loved riding my bike thru. We always yelled to hear the echo. There are no bats.
Very interesting! My head was spinning there for a moment. LOL. I love old road alignments. Too bad that beautiful 1944 bridge is just sitting there left to the elements.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing this. I just love old cars and trucks. Made me think of the TV show The Waltons.
It has been unknown years since I have watched any of your vids, but I never forgot about your channel, so here I am on 14Jun2024 catching up,on your videos.
What the reason that this happens??
Either planned obsolescence or manufacture defect
Good find!
That is pretty amazing, thanks for sharing!
My sister lives on hwy 40 in Belleville IN I just learned of the history of this road last year and have been looking into it !! Thank you so much for this slice of history!!! Love your videos!!
It's a place I want to visit eventually. I hope the bridge will be restored.
Location street name.
Got it thanks
i havent seen that diagonal crossway since ive been living in indiana, bit sad innit
I used to deliver steel to Allison Custom Fab. Old coal mine complex. Plenty of beehive ovens and giant piles of red dog! .
It was worse back then... The lanes were NARROWER than they are today in the revamped tunnels.
The other side is narrower!
Awesome! We stay in Corolla every September!
I stopped in Duck to replenish my Tommy rub

I'm curious why the Lincoln Highway Assoc. doesn't show the Lincoln highway going anywhere near this area.
I would think that they would being that the Heritage center is only 30 or 40 miles west of there in Ligonier
Thank you for the video. I used to live in Chester county Philadelphia suburbs I would drive on Pennsylvania Turnpike Route 22 then route 15 to get to Rochester New York to see my sister. Never knew about these historic places. Thank you so much.
I lived in C section, Carnegie Dr., which was one of the oldest sections of Forest Park. Most of the kids who I knew were City kids whose parents finally made the decision to get out and enjoy the relaxed suburban life. HA! I got in more trouble with the cops as a 9 year old than I ever did in Bond Hill. (I ran away from in 1964 when I was four years old. We lived on Ryland off of Paddock...the CPD found me and two other kids my age, one a little older who I talked into the gypsy life with me. My home life was not ideal. So the cops found us on the Norwood Lateral. They just couldn't believe it!!" It was like late November and Cold. My parents were so relieved that they celebrated and we went out to the Avondale White Castles for a celebratory dinner. It was actually very nice) But Forest Park was an excellent place to be a kid. I went to Cameron Park Elementary (no longer there, what a shame). in the Winter, they had like two Fridays a month, an after school movie in that huge gymnasium that also was the cafeteria, auditorium, and behind the stage we took music class. Bu the greatest thing about Forest Park was Winton Woods. Just across the street, where Carlsbad met Lakeview, you went left and the first picnic area turn off you made your way down to the creek. This was magical to us kids. It was a natural clay bank and we mad all kinds of stuff, I made an ashtray for my parents, which they never used. We'd have days of just exploring the woods and there was an old stand of big pine trees, on cold days we'd lie under the trees on the soft pine needles in our coats and caps...and sometimes it would start to flurry or snow and that is a magical memory for me. Looking back, I am amazed I wasn't killed in the woods due to my lack of caution. One time, two of us climbed up a perilously steep, yeah, it was a modest cliff, but a cliff nevertheless. It's hard to describe where this is at...I'd have to show you. think McKelvey dam cliff only MUCH lower, with many more places to gain purchase (in our Keds hightops). I could write a book about life in Forest Park, I hope it is for the kids there now what it was for me. NICE VIDEO!!
Thank you so darn much!!!!

Hello! Your video is 12 years old but I like it a lot. It was a very personable way to talk about where you grew up in Greenhills. I came across some home movie film of Greenhills with two parades from the late 50s or early 60s. I hope you will have a look. Because the Scouts in it are kids (they can't help that) YT does not allow comments. That's crushing because I would have really liked for people who remember the parades - maybe even saw someone they knew or themselves in the films - to be able to comment about it. These films are so rare but I can't do anything about the comments. Hopefully though you and others seeing your video again will find mine and with a few views maybe people will eventually be able to find it. Thanks again for your video. It's one I would recommend for sure to anyone who finds a way to ask me about Greenhills.
Fascinating...
I used to walk this area as a kid, I’ve collected spoons, Knick knacks, and other “treasures” that were from the washed away homes….
