Sadie finally arrived. We rescued her from a pound in Kentucky and had to get her vetted and transported to us...it was only 2-3 weeks, but seemed like forever! We are so happy to have her with us. Allie liked her right away and as you can see from the video there first meeting went very well.

I so agree that once you have a border collie you are hooked for life, I am on my fourth in my life time he is now 10 1/2 and such a precious precious boy. Sadie is adorable and I hope she is still with you. She is a beautiful girl

I’ve had many different dogs in my life and any breed of dog is better than no dog at all. They all have redeeming qualities but their is something extra special about Border Collies
They are the Ferrari of the dog world, bred to understand humans better than any other breed. I remember taking my first collie to a puppy training class. The instructor told everyone to let the puppies off the lead and just watch them. Ours was the only dog who ignored the other puppies and went up to each and every human to say hello.
My ex-wife had a cattle dog mutt that was like this. I loved that dog. I had to take care of her for a while. One of the smartest dogs I've ever been around. She would walk up and poke me and growl, and she would stand there staring at me while I asked if she wanted food, or to go outside etc. She'd jump around in a circle when I got to what she wanted. Sometimes she would just bring me her leash if she had to pee. Poor thing came from a shelter, and clearly had some sort of trauma. She acted like a depressed human does. Wouldn't play or anything. Had a weird thing with water, too. She would drink until she vomited, so we had to give her small rations of water and keep the toilet closed. Poor foresight led to a disastrous beach trip where she just bolted for the water and started chugging. I did discover that she loved to run though, so we ran a lot. That was the only time she ever wagged her tail. It was sad that she had no instinct or desire to chase a ball whatsoever, because she could run much longer than I could.

Those yawns that end with a high pitch get me every time. :)
My dog does this a few times a day. Does the same high pitched squeaky yawns as well.
