May 2024 Autocross at TMP Cayuga with PADA in my Factory Five Cobra. This is only my second time doing autocross so I'm still learning, and I made several changes to the car over the winter so it's like driving a new car to me. Had a great day, made all clean runs, Can't wait to do it again!

First start on Rodfather Mike's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop after completing an LS swap. We had come challenges but we got it started and it runs great!
You lost the bet!
It was a draw
Nice fix! I recently opened my door latch boxes for installation (just installed the body); and one latch came out of the box a little hinky. Great tip.
Hope my video helps you get your latch working!
£10.00 job and takes 5 minutes.
Take the headlight off the car and buy a cheap buffing wheel and rouge from Harbor freight then buff it out on the drill press.
I found that polishing only lasts a few months, I’m hoping the clear will last at least a year.
I own a 2002 Tundra. If you want to clean the headlights, then use toothpaste (Crest), and rub it on, then rub it off like car wax. It works every time.
How long does that last for you? I found that polishing only lasts a few months.
Works great Mark! I think it was the good luck charm cause Aidan won his class that weekend. Had a blast working on it with you.
Aidan needed his sleep, that’s why we weren’t up and that’s why he won. 🤪
You slept in, but you didn’t win!
Like the video, but the show would’ve been much better if they had the jet truck there that’s a nice way to end the show
Great video, had a great time there with great friends.
Please do an update after a few months to see if the clear lasts. Pretty neat experiment.
I’ll definitely post updates. I tried polishing and the parts store kits. Even tried the bug spray trick and none of those lasted. I drove in the dark last weekend and so far it has been excellent, much brighter lights and better visibility.
awesome video Mark !!!!
1-Never spray clear before the plastic is completely compounded and crystal clear 2-Never spray 2K clear designed for body panels. This turns into a hard layer and doesn’t allow the plastic to expand and contract with heat and will lead to cracking. 3-use clear coat especially designed for headlights and spray it in one shot, do not come back and do a second coat after it dries
Thank you for that ! Great to see action at Cayuga.
Glad you liked it!
RodFather? Boyd Coddington maybe.
Love it
Nice, but for the love of GOD man... Second gear!!!!
Ya, I’ve got a lot to learn, can’t wait for the next time, I’ll bang some gears and hopefully pickup some speed
@@RodfatherMark I believe it is the Skip Barber school that teaches: "A happy tire is a squeelin' tire. Not a SQUALin' tire, but a SQUEELin' tire..." That's actually a pretty good guideline to go by, and find out from your peers there what sort of pressures they are running. Enjoy!
@@kevinnathanson6876 that’s great advice, thanks!
Push it harder! Love the car tho
Yep, I need more confidence and more speed!
@@RodfatherMark I apologize if I sounded rude. Honestly I would be nervous to even drive that beautiful car. If you did, great!
Ever since I was about 15 years old, I've always always wanted a cobra. Sadly, I do not believe I ever will but I do enjoy the video. Take care man
The cobra is great but you can have fun in any car, take whatever you have and go to your local track and have fun.
looks like fun
So much fun!
That's compleatly the wrong viscosity oil for that engine,,Its way to thin,,5w engine oils only started to be used in the late 90s early 2000s,,This engine dates from the 50s and 60s ,,You should be using 10w or even 15w depending on your climate,,,Your engines serviceable life will be greatly reduced by using this thin an oil..
Thank you for your comment. 5w30 was recommended by my engine builder. It’s always best to follow the advice of the shop that built the engine, especially when dealing with custom or rebuilt engines.
Congrats , it sounds good .
word of warning do not let the tanks weight rest on the fuel lines place a jack or something to support it i have had it break the lines off the tank unit or crack the hard plastic fuel line ,
That’s great advice! It doesn’t show in the video but I had the tank resting on a tire so that there was no stress on the fuel lines. A jack or blocks of wood work well too!
great fix mark the old mk1 is suffering the same problem but i dont have the spacer from behind the latch either door dont have one so ill figure it out
You might have to drill a hole behind the latch to recess the bolt head if you don’t have a spacer. Good luck!
my mk1 only has single thickness doors with a metal backer that the door skin is attached too ill figure out something@@RodfatherMark
i did the fix today easy to do , thanks again , i just drilled out the backer the latch attaches too , had to fix it i got trapped last year with the top on the car and the door wouldnt open it took me ten min to get out by taking the cover with my pocket knife to take out the two little screws thanks again, tomorrow rerouting the speedo cable @@RodfatherMark
@@cnev3824awesome! Glad you got it fixed, being stuck in the car is no fun.
Good, thank you and congrats, Can you burn rust with it, keeping material intact?
No, it doesn’t really work on rust
Notecards are faster/easier.
Cards work great if you have them, which I didn’t. Sometimes you have to work with what you’ve got.
Fantastic
That pot scrubber is going right back into the kitchen where you found it, isn't it?
That is where the pots are😂

Rodfather-you made epic - 🙌
My 67 Camaro just gets a hose down with heavy calcified water from my hose 👀... I've learned if you baby your cars too much, you inevitably get disappointed. Having said that, Luv the ride. Had to make a decision months ago, Cobra vs a 67 Camaro.
Cobra vs ‘67 Camaro, that’s a hard choice!
is the base taller than the original ?
I think it is. I’ll show a comparison of this intake to the stock intake when I’ve got them both off the car.
id like to see if one would work with my upper ive got a jegs powerbox upper on the stock lower so the only thing id need to know is if the bolt pattern is the same as stocksmall ford@@RodfatherMark
Is it just me, or does that Cobra have a lift kit?
The tires are too big so I’ve got the suspension raised on the coil overs so the tires don’t rub. Next set of slicks will be an inch smaller diameter.
niceeee
Thanks
No engine install video, It has a stock clutch and brake booster with a frame mod to clearance the brake booster
Engine is 1987, no cats
Do you have video installing the engine I have the same engine. Also did you use stock clutch brake pedal and power brake booster
Nice what year is the engine and are you running with cats
