2P Story Mode WIP: Gotcha Force
This is something I've been messing with lately, since I think it's a cool thing I would've liked in the game. All you have to do is make sure another controller is plugged in before the battle begins, and that there is an ally present. It checks per battle.

I thought this recording became corrupted as a result of something going wrong trimming the video, but found it sitting somewhere on my system months later. I think this is the fastest route to take for this, at least without factoring in very heavy amounts of rng. This time could've been better had things went more smoothly. I don't think there's much difference in how this plays out than if you had upgrades. Throwing some Rock Pikmin to deal with that brain looking thing early on will usually deal with it by the time you've done everything else. While there are Purple Candypop Buds, I find that it only really helps against the Emperor Bulblax, so it's more optional if anything.

Blooming the White Pikmin and getting them on the nuggets is top priority. Blooming Purple Pikmin might not be required, but it's right there and takes a very small amount of time so why not. Sending Oatchi to destroy the mold is about all he's useful for in this trial aside from what's he required for. Trying for a Platinum does not leave much room for error.

Level design. Not much to say here either. Send Oatchi off early to fight things, sparsely throw Purple Pikmin, and then start slapping with the rookie towards the end and hope the game's controls don't screw you over.

I cannot stress enough how helpful the Ultra Spicy Spray is here, not only for building the climbing stick much quicker with the small amount of Pikmin you might have on hand, but also for blooming every Pikmin that's not rooted in the ground. While you can't use the Go Here command, you can kinda create a similar effect by having Oatchi carry something, since he'll make his way back to base while you can pilot the rookie. The Bug-Eyed Crawmad is really awful at catching Pikmin that are carrying stuff, especially if they have flowers. Freezing the water and ignoring the enemies is pretty much all you need for this one, it's not very strict. Throwing 3 Pikmin at the tunnel early on usually completes it by the time you've done everything else. Disbanding all your Pikmin as soon as you exit the tunnel would be ideal if the game worked properly and didn't sometimes send the Pikmin off the ledge for no reason.

Trying to play the whole game without using gear or upgrades now (although you have to get fire upgrades to 100% hero’s hideaway) and I wasn’t even sure this was possible without upgrades, good job
It's strange since you need the fire equipment to enter there, but you can de-equip it once you're inside anyway iirc, unlike Oatchi's upgrades which are permanent. It's been a while so I can't quite remember.
Is there a way to patch this bug on the disc itself? If that’s possible, how can I do that?
I imagine it'd be applying the code changes to the executable, and rebuilding the iso, and then burning that onto a disc somehow. But I wouldn't know how to do that sorry.

You use the analogue sticks or shoulder buttons to hit them, with the default input bindings. I strongly recommend you join the official Discord of the game for update info, as the game receives tweaks and fixes pretty regularly.

I was trying it today. Most were fine, although 8 is a bit tough, but THIS?this is ridiculous i tell ya. Wraith rng at the beginning alone must have taken you a lot
The rng makes it more tedious than it needs to be, but it's not very strict. Between the Waterwraith, the Blowhogs, and the game's finicky nature in general though, it can definitely be frustrating at times just waiting for a possible attempt to come about.

Yeah, each boost you do adds to the fuel that maintains the fire coming out of the back of the kart. There's different tiers of fire that exist, which you get from certain boost pads or other means, but the rule is the same to just keep it alive with boosts to maintain that speed.

You can get an alternate Antares this way, though you can perform the glitch the usual way to get him too.

@@Gawaden As far as I'm aware, I'm the only person to perform the glitch this way and have yet to make a guide on it. You should be fine to perform the glitch the more known way by using a force sequence of 1,2,10,11,12 for the borg id, and a force sequence of 9 for a level 1 alternate.

I don't think so. The fruit is too high for a wall bump to affect it, and he can't go through the hole in the wall to get up there
