how the heck they can play music this complicated live, i have no idea. there are so many quirky changes of rhythm and pauses, and it goes on for 18 minutes, constantly changing. i'm pretty sure those in the charts these days couldn't play this live or otherwise, nor could they come up with music like this in the first place, which is why we have crap music in the charts now, 2 or 3 chord music with one click beat rhythm and a few catchy words repeated over and over. full respect to the likes of Yes and Genesis who made such creative music

I bought this album in my teens soon after it was released and went to places in my head with it - a decade ago I got out of my car and a bird in a tree distinctly whistled the riff @ 2:52 mins to 2:58 da da da -da da da- da da da -da da daaa - da da ! Later that evening I turned on the radio and learnt Chris Squire had died earlier that day UK time . . It made this album even more auspicious for me because that was no ordinary bird song I heard . .

Coming here from a recommendation as the best YES song. Not the best song from YES in my opinion with the respect of all the people here, i rather prefer Roundabout by far, simply because does not have the soul that i found on Genesis, King Crimson, Deep purple or the Who.

The whole band are like gods how can you not close your eyes to this into a meditation state of relaxation like spirit leaving body feeling.

I can have the worst day in my entire life and want to beat fists on the floor this band fixes all that is wrong with the world and all the people in it.

Can you believe Eric Clapton looked up to Mike Bloomfield? Horrible phrasing in my opinion couldn't get through the number listening

Saw yes in the Orpheum Theater Boston 1977 ish..😂 was in the balcony and they separated the floor from us with a green lazer so we couldn’t see floor! Someone bought a lovely Linda doll and she was bouncing through the light like it was water! 3 Purple microdot helped! Great stuff to reflect upon to imagine!

17:16 my favorite moment of this omnious Masterpiece, the way they ended it in such an epic way will never seize to amaze me, kinda reminds me of eclipse by pink Floyd.

I will never forget being at my best friends house in HS (around 2000), his parents out of town. We stole some booze, smoked some reefer, turned out the lights, before my friend said wait until you hear this track. what an experience. we ended up seeing Yes three times before getting to college. the first time we saw them, at the Hartford Meadows, our other buddy passed out literally seconds before Howe played the intro strings to Roundabout. That friend never lived it down

One of my favorite prog rock tunes ever. Where it belonged, on the top of this list.

Have never cared for this version. The official version is much better all the way around in my opinion. The RCA version sounds more like a rehearsal. Still interesting to hear the early stages of the song's development.
