I have been a thrifter for years and its crazy how goodwills prices have gone up

Keep the the zig zag trick in mind (or the "S" trick if there's more then 2 shelves) but with the zig zag trick... If you have a set of books laying down on the top shelf on the left side then use more books on the 2nd shelf but on the right side and stand them up if possible. That way you don't have two of the same clusters right underneath each other. Also keep balance with the zig zag trick... If yoh have "heavier" home decor meaning darker colors or smaller items in pairs of 3s on the top shelf on left side then keep the right side lighter and vice versa on bottom shelf... So bottom shelf would have the pairs of 3s darker items on the right side. Lighter decor means lighter colors or a larger piece but just on its own. So if left side has a cluster of 3 items them keep the right side minimal with just one larger item like one larger vase or planter or basket. It turned out great. Looks beautiful and light and airy but interesting. Also always make use of negative space so the eye can rest. Very cute home and I live you guys as a couple.
