The Fossil Ridge Bands have consistently earned superior ratings at concert and jazz festivals. The Fossil Ridge Marching Band has received numerous awards, and has been a consistent state championship finalist since entering competition in 2005, having earned “finalist” status in class 3A, 4A, and 5A. The Marching Band was the class 5A STATE CHAMPION in 2012, 2013, 2018, 2019, & 2022; the silver medalist in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2021; the bronze medalist in 2010 and 2011. In 2019, the Marching Band was a regional finalist in their first year competing at the national level at the St. George, UT, Bands of America Regional, and placed 2nd in Flagstaff AZ, Bands of America in 2022.

The Fossil Ridge High School Band, with their show "Enlightenment", placed first and won High General Effect in 5A competition with a score of 86.60 on November 3, 2018 @ Falcon Stadium Air Force Academy. Due to inclement weather, finals were cancelled and semi final scores were used as final scores for the 2018 season.
