My name is Tetiana Oliinyk. I'm creating quilts for last ten years. I invite everyone to plunge in this exciting process together with me and may be this will be the beginning of your own story.
"Matters" Exhibition of art textiles. Kyiv. Summer 2024
I invite you to go to the exhibition with me. This event evoked complex emotions in me, because a lot of works which are permeated with a lot of pain are collected in this space. But I decided to show only a few such works in the video. Very few quilts are presented at the exhibition, because it is not a Ukrainian tradition. But there are a lot of interesting carpets, tapestries, prints, collages and symbols that may be familiar to you, because many details, I am sure, are also present in your cultures. Our big world is so small!

What model Pfaff is that, and do you like it? I have a Pfaff Ambition 1.5 that is getting old, and I may need to replace it .
Hi! I also have an old one😆 Pfaff Expression 4.2. I do like it, but there's newer and more modern models out there.

Michele, thank you for taking this journey through the exhibition with me! Actually, this exhibition was pretty hard for me, because the fates of many of these artists are very complicated. That's why I didn't show all the works, but only those that will be understandable for people from different parts of the world.🌼

Так, дійсно є неймовірні гобелени. А ще мені сподобалися роботи в стилі арт деко початку 20 ст. Але коли розумієш яка доля чекала багатьох з цих митців.... Мені було дуже важко на виставці... Так що мій фаворит той чувак з сикстиху з фразою " Пішов на ...")))

When you add your turquoise/black/white strips, are you just placing one fabric piece on top of the other, then sewing them together under those strips?
Hi. These strips are bias tape. You're pretty much correct. I showed this process in more details in my videos Quilt "Siri" and Quilt "Adelaida"🌷

Can I ask What is your preferred wadding and how often do you change rotary blades? Your cutting is brilliant. Is it an Olfa Rotary cutter?
Thanks for your comment! Yes, I use an Olfa knife. I change the rotary blades every two quilts. My favorite wadding is Hollowsoft 100 (It's sealed on both side)🌼
