    Are the sound effects or sound test available on the S Chip? Like of I bought am S model eprom and put it in a special eprom sound effects mp3 player o have from Chuck E. Cheese they used for sound effects on a chip, would o be able to scroll through all of the various sounds on this eprom too? BTW are "Skeeball Too" eproms hard to find? I had this whole box and power supply from a CEC version of Skeeball too bit before o realized the sound was stored on eproms I trashed it! Aggh!

    Came across your video and wondered if you could give me some insight as I am having issues with my SkeeBall game. I have a SBC-1-B-SP31A board. When I plug it in the fan will start, but no lights, sound, display, or ball button will work. It was working fine before, but all of a sudden had this issue. I tried unplugging and re-plugging and reviewing to see if there was any loose wires. None that I could see. My game is all original incandescence bulbs. I did not take the metal box apart to see the entire PCB. Any thoughts on what to look for or idea what is causing this?

    • @zachgutzmer1172
      @zachgutzmer1172 Před 5 měsíci

      If the 120v fan works you know you have AC power coming in. Your DC power supply section might not be working causing your issues, there is fuse on the main board that could be blown if a component shorted. You need to confirm you have good power before any other trouble shooting measures. After that is known good, you need to look at the ram chip and the game rom.

      Jim - it sounds like your controller is no longer booting up. Check the two fuses (near the power cord should be good if the lights are on, and there is another on the circuit board by the fan) and make sure the controller is making good power (5v and 12 volts)

  • @jaycook761
    @jaycook761 Před 2 lety

    On the LED versions you need that extra "white" wire because, the chip is a UCN5833A Serial-Input Latch Driver. Lookup the datasheet for the chip. If you trace it out on your display that white wire goes to PIN 4 which is the "Strobe" pin, this has to be set high after the end of the clock signal for 100 nano-seconds. I learned this when I was building an Arduino based controller. It will control the mini-bulb version and also the LED version but without that white wire the decimal and the number glitch like you showed. I learned from your video using pin 6 on the 4-player display allows you to use the LED display, very cool. Hit me up would love to chat about these.
