The Avianca crash should have never occured. The 707 is a busy plane to fly; yet the Columbian company saw it fine to allow an international flight to leave without auto pilot capability. This caused fatigue on the captain and stress. The flight crew were not aggressive and should have , at least, declared PAN, PAN, PAN. The fuel was critical for an hour before the crash. They were intimidated by the ATC , for some reason; maybe cultural, which seems irrelevent, however , thos factor has played a role in several crashes and incidents. One of the largest issues was with Korean Air years ago. A major crash initiated an investigation, which made the KAL system of training change its cockpit culture. There were no longer any " sacred cow" captains. All had a say. All had to agree that an action was appropriate. Even in 1990 , the 707 was getting whiskers. The bullet type engines used much more fuel than the the next gen engines with high by pass that uses less fuel at altitude. As in most accidents, several factors combine to allow it to occur. May God bless the souls of the lost, and bless the living with strength to go on.

I have noticed watching Mayday quite a bit and i dont know if its just me or not but in most of the Asian plane crashes or the one in Guam why are the relatives brought to the crash site in bus after bus or ships to view such a horrific seen where hundreds have died and the recovry process is still going on. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

been on the london under ground once and been on mersey rail underground in liverpool ,a very small under ground system. most of it is above ground think the longest part under ground gose under the river mersey to birkenhead.

Again, what I thought about Chapman killing drivers with his cars has been pointed to. I’ve had people claim I don’t know what I am talking about. I’ve been around racing and cars my whole life.
