The plastic bag choke - 'Renzo Gracie's Guide to Submissions' course at RGOA
zhlédnutí 16KPřed 3 lety
(Curso legendado na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) The more guard players develop attacks starting from the half-guard, the more passers work on ways to block and counter-attack. It was from this logic that Renzo Gracie developed the choke dubbed the plastic bag. Note that he initially uses a simple movement to neutralize the guard player's right arm, leaving his neck vulnerable. To check out an...
Renzo Gracie: How to tailor jiu-jitsu to your body
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 3 lety
(Curso legendado na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) Although he's not very flexible, Renzo has found ways to make his guard into a nightmare. That is just one example of that fact that in BJJ, a fighter's physical traits barely matter. Note how Renzo draws attention to the fact that the same logic can be applied in one's daily challenges. Just like in BJJ, don't let yourself be foiled by a limita...

(Curso legendado em português na Renzo Gracie Online Academy.) To escape the all-fours position migrating to the half-guard, Leo Tunico controls (by the sleeve) the hand with which his opponent is trying to choke him. In parallel, he grips his opponent's pants and thus manages to follow his movement. Watch how he shrimps laterally, reaching a position transversal to his opponent's body. That's ...

One of the most effective ways to surprise passers is to fluidly and dynamically transition between different types of guard. Note how Christian Xaropinho easily goes from the adjustments of the De la Riva into the X-guard, always staying ahead of the passer in strategic terms. The decisive moment of the transition takes place when Xaropinho wraps Leo Tunico's left leg with his right arm, gaini...
X-guard sweep from the open guard - Rafael 'Zé Triângulo' Costa | Renzo Gracie Online Academy

So your opponent opened your guard and stood up. How about making a grip on one sleeve and another on the end of their opposite pant leg? This is how Rafael Costa starts to transition to the x-guard. Note how he steps on the passer's left leg, opening space to reposition himself. The guard player's left leg momentarily wraps around the passer's right leg. The right hand goes to the collar and u...

Triangle from spider guard with Leo Tunico
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 4 lety
Combine two or three attacks in a sequence - that is one of the secrets to making your spider guard truly efficient. In this lesson, Leo Tunico analyzes a common scenario. The guard player tries to sweep the passer, who momentarily gets unbalanced but does not fall. That does not mean the attack was useless, though. Tunico shows that in the middle of the movement, the passer made himself vulner...

Learn Invisible Jiu-Jitsu under Rickson Gracie
The more I hear about the IJF the less I like it.
Start with Judo then when the body starts hurting and slowing down go to jiu jitsu
It's so weird how they lie about the belt system. The only historical evidence shows that Helio and Carlos wore black belts since the beginning.
I think it reaaaally depends on your gym, I did Judo for 2 years or so abd had friends that pursued it and none of them, although having high ranked color belts, is strong, confident in their abilities or very good at texhnique. And thats because we only did technique and a bit of skipping!
Renato laranja
Such a bad technique. I can't believe those guys ruled the world
Roger tem uma didática sensacional.
This guy looks like Sean Strickland lol
This just made my day, and now I'll start making my dummy. Thanks!
Wrist lock danger??? Sometimes that hapenned to me.
Thank you very much martial arts God.

Bullshit pass. Would only work if your opponent is dead
That’s cool, worked out great for me in class until I got to the part where I go to side control and the leg is still in the way and then keep ending up in half guard. How does he clear the leg from this position?
Sérgio Malandro com sotaque de NY.
situational. Its not propper turtle, and its not "only" BJJ move XD
Also known as the Paterson
Smart and wise talking Sir, respect
John Danaher ❤
People hate this more than anything
There is no video with a more perfect demonstration of this guard pass available than this one.
What if women INITIATE the violence? Should men be allowed to defend themselves?
making it to work is really hard, as the opponent will always turn to maintain guard and you won't be able to be at an angle when you stand up with one knee. This puts you in danger of getting swept.
Thanks ! 💪
Nosso maior orgulho. Oss Rafael Sapo Natal
Haha I love it
Cauliflower ears
absolute gold in less than 2 min. Normal youtuber would've made 20 min of waffle to try and say the same thing.
How do you do this pass without getting caught in triangle 🤔
1 solid judo throw and no amount of bjj skill is gonna matter because you're done before you even have a chance to use it, you can't submit what you can't take down first
Lovely interview ❤

....
It's just JuJitsu. You can slap your countries name on it, but it was still brought over by a Japanese man. Sad that the Gracie's have no class or shame.
I started Judo at my 6 years of age and focused on it for the next 6 years. Judo helped me survive many bad situations during my school time. It helped me humble bullies 3 classes above me. It helped me deal with bullies head taller than me, it helped me deal with jerks at night clubs. Definitely worth learning guys. If i could learn it and train it as a kid, so can you during your teenage or adult years, don't be p*ssy. It's for ur own good! If you like it, go for it!
Good post bro. Same same. If you train it seriously like 3 times a week minimum, some untrained rando between your hands is just a pillow dummy, clueless about what to do.
Respect from Iranian wrestler ❤
Grabbing the ass of the pants is money in the bank.
I practiced both but I've to say that bjj is as dangerous as judo for your health. All those chokes and. arm bars are not without consequences
Je crois que cest la vingtième fois que je regarde cette vidéo. Merci beaucoup
Nice try Sean
Finally an answer to a senseless discussion
I like learning the concept of jiu jitsu moves not just a technique, as technique will just explain one thing while concept will open the door to more possibilities. This is why I really liked the illustrative concept of a jack lifting up a car.
The judoka kimura trained heavily in wrestling and used it in his judo. So I find it interesting that judo, at the highest of levels, is pulling this “you can’t cross train (compete) in other styles” thing
Jozef Chen just utilized this to pass an incredible guard in Tommy Langaker
Amazing. I was just thinking I had seen Jozef showing this in no go.
At your school in Manhattan in the 90s you did not deviate from bjj, Carlson ot otherwise: you block the guard attack with your elbow. What happened to bjj, Professor.. There is no attack if you do the fundamentals correctly and with great force and balance. What is this crap.
Would have been great to have a few words from the ONLY (two time) OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST IN JUDO FROM THE UNITED STATES that he was surfing with.
Renzo is awesome ❤
Certain people can improve the good stuff, the stuff that will remain forever. Rickson did a lot. Saulo did some too. Renzo is one of those guys.
wouldn't even work vs a white belt. poor technique.
Always nice to know where the right place is for valid Jiu Jitsu.
