Fantastic tutorial. Gonna try and DIY with a manual spring compressor a.k.a "the widow maker".

These videos by manufacturers and parts suppliers are all very well but they tend to be far removed from the real world. My car isn't beautifully steam-cleaned when I start working on it, and the nuts and bolts don't unscrew perfectly first time. In this video ... 1. Not sure about the placement of that dodgy looking bottle jack -- they could have spent more than 2 seconds showing us exactly where to locate it. 2. It was convenient that the new shock was exactly the same length as the old one. In the real world the bottom mounting hole won't line up with the hole the mounting bolt screws into, so you will have to adjust the height of the bottle jack (or whatever you're using). Again, it would have been nice if they had shown us this.

80nm for strut bolts, 80nm for spring retention nut, 40nm for drop link nut and 69nm for strut mount nut. I don't know why they have this daN.m , it's basically saying deca newton meter which is ten times the value. Just confuses the issue and is not even a worthwhile abbreviation!

Hi have a c4 , and have new KYB SHOCKS AND SPRINGS, which way up do the springs fit do the top have the tighter wound coil for the rubber coil mount to sit in
