Chula Vista: Arsonist Resist Arrest (Caught on Camera) 06162024

DETAILS:
In the last several days, multiple fires have started in the weedy lot, with several homeless encampments. The suspect was seen starting the fire and feeding brush into it.
The first thought was that the suspect was a male, but the person was found to be a woman when she tried to walk away as the firefighters arrived. A witness went to her and placed her under "Citizen's Arrest" and grabbed her as she resisted.
She was able to squirm out of her hoodie when then she was found to be naked under the hoodie. As firefighters started to put the fire out, a CVPD officer arrived, and she walked away.
When the officer confronted her, she again tried to walk away and then resisted the officer. The officer put her on the ground, and she was fighting.
An off-duty Sheriff's Deputy was with her family and saw the officers fighting.
She ran over and started to help the officer get control of the suspect.
More officers arrived, and the suspect had to have a spit sock put on her head, and she was put in a body wrap to control her. She was then transported to a medical facility.
