Finished watching it It’s 50 years old Director William A. Graham makes a blaxploitation era flick about injustice in the streets Music is by Barry White himself which adds to the 1970s vibe There’s a very suspenseful scene involving sneaking into a police precinct that’s pretty effective I like how this gang works as a unit to get to the root of the problem This is also one of the rare films from the 1970s to focus on LGBTQIA characters When it reaches the middle of the story there’s a very harsh scene explaining why this perpetrator did what he did to the officer, it’s almost very heartbreaking The score is pretty effective too especially the climax when it gets quite intense The important thing for anybody is to stay together gang related or not This manages to be a worthy flick of this era of filmmaking really laying thick the difficult tensions of the time It’s a scary world when certain communities only have the power of each other when everyone else is against them or forgets them entirely but there’s still unification in dyer strains
