Did not expect a dylan impression from Joan Baez.
This is one of my favourite Dylan recordings. I knew it from an old 90's bootleg cd and am happy to find it here again.

We are so lucky to have lived in the time of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. I saw Cohen in concert towards the end of his life and it was great of course, but the special surprise was he read some of his poems. Not surprisingly he was a great reader - an art in itself. I always think of the four great singer/songwriters of our time being Dylan, Cohen, Joannie Mitchel, and Tom Waits (and half of these are Canadian! Not bad. Also of course Lennon and McCartney have to be mentioned in this superlative club.

It's in my top 10 Dylan albums. Could rise into my top 5 eventually. Amazing album. Can listen to it over and over. Same with Street Legal.

Big Mama Thornton is one of the unheralded pioneer heroes of rock and roll. She passed away on July 25, 1984. 40 years ago today.
She's the reason for all the music of the past 80 years

This is just a compilation I put together of the Dylan-related bits. The documentary is called "Joan Baez: How Sweet the Sound." Came out in 2009. If you Google the title, you should be able to find several options to watch the full film. There's also a newer documentary about Joan Baez called "Joan Baez: I Am a Noise," which just came out last year. It's also available now on a bunch of the big streaming/video on demand services. They're very different films, but both are excellent.

Bob paid Warren the ultimate tribute by playing several songs of his live each night on his 2002 when Warren was dying from cancer. I saw one of those shows and it was very powerful.

Bob is above all songwriters. That being said, there are many who followed him, and done so successfully.
