Ahau and Rotuma Airport

Finding my way around by running some errands to the government station where the Post office is located amongst other services. Post office also sells consumer products as well. Then I headed to the airport to pick up my parcel and also witnessed the arrival of the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for Fiji. Archbishop Peter Chong.

Life on Rotuma was just a dream not too long ago but it is beginning to sink in now. Excited to begin the actual task of building our little “Bure house” and get acquainted with friends and families in the community.

Hiking up to Paho. Mountain was steep and I was so glad Tavana and his crew cleared the way up, otherwise it would be impossible to get up to the top.

Fąieksea, always beautiful, our island and it's people. There use to be a thatched shack at this location called they called it "Waikiki ta". It was like a night club in the late 1980s if anyone remembers. Good times.

Where are all the rain forest to prevent soil erosion. Need to replant trees to protect our fertile soil otherwise, it will be like the islands in the west with mountains covered with grass and very dry infertile soil.
I’m sure there’s plan in the works. There’s definitely work in progress.
the rainforest trees were cut down for a 'pā kau'. at 8.42, the nasa programme marker when the US went to the moon.

This is in Fiji
Rotuma is a volcanic island of approximately 43 sq. kilometers, located at 12 degrees south latitude and 177 degrees east longitude, approximately 465 kilometers north of Fiji. Although the island has been politically part of Fiji since 1881, Rotuman culture more closely resembles that of the Polynesian islands to the east, most noticeably Tonga, Samoa, Futuna and Uvea. Because of their Polynesian appearance and distinctive language, Rotumans now constitute a recognizable minority group within the Republic of Fiji.
