Montreal native, SNAILS, has cemented himself as a leading figure in bass music. Father of his own sub-genre, SNAILS’ Vomitstep embraces trap rhythms & off-kilter sound design, curating an original form of dance music. His debut album & first-full production tour, THE SHELL (2017), was greeted with widespread critical acclaim. THE SHELL TOUR visited 37 U.S. cities in 45 days & launched SNAILS sold-out Red Rocks concert “SLUGGTOPIA."
The artist has released over 35 singles, surpassed 130 million streams & delivered over 450 international performances; gracing renowned EDM stages at Coachella, EDC, Tomorrowland, Bonnaroo & more. We've always been fascinated by the concept of elemental types ever since getting into Pokémon from a very young age and recently I’ve been enjoying working them into the themes for my sound design and music. A collab with Snails & Chime seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore the Poison type with all its sludgy goodness translated into basses. This with our combined love for Hollow Knight culminated in the track painting a scene of an ancient snail shaman teaching a protagonist a new spell - “Arcane Ooze”.
