@@GiggityGig You can use SD card to store raw files directly on it however the I/O of sdcard is too low for raw recording.. recording to SDD is recommended.

@@EndlessEnergy I love the colors straight out of the camera, there's a flat profile too (not log though) and it makes it possible to tweak the colors even with LUTs. My favorite camera is E-P7 though as it lets you do pretty precise color grading directly in the camera, you can tweak each primary color separately as well as highs, mids and shadows. This way I can see what I am recording and set the lighting accordingly. For me as a filmmaker, it speeds up the process and helps me to be more creative. Surely I could achieve similar results in post-production, creating masks, motion track and so on, but it would take far more time and effort.

@@zigmej I've yet to see a MF speed booster with sharp edges (I've compared a couple of models with my friends). Do tell if you feel yours is sharper!

@@EndlessEnergy im in a process of buying 45mm mamiya so will see. i suspect it will be a bit better probably but thing here is that 45 and especially 35mm is softer towards the edges naturally. when 45mm arrives i will check that compared to 80mm and that should give us some clues.

@@ZachSmith-qr8qp Precisely, I can't really recall how I set it up but I do remember that it was way less fiddly than when flying analog VTX. Plug and play, DJI O3 never failed me. I think I've lost video signal only once!

Samsung has fallen behind in camera nowadays, imo Samsung is no longer an android champ. I more prefer Xiaomi Ultra or Vivo Ultra for camera

@@EndlessEnergy i got the 2.8. The 1.9 is way too hard to find without haze and other issues. And for video i’m going to live around 2.8-4 anyway so didn’t feel the need.

Believe it or not I used one of the Sony S-log3 to Rec709 Luts (from davinci resolve) and did a custom grade on top of it, varying from clip to clip!

FX3 is still my main camera but I could make due with gh6 if I had to. But that's the whole point -> "If I HAD to". Sony is still the best overall camera under 10k. Bottom line I agree with you!

@@EndlessEnergyhere is the thing too, this camera is for people starting out when considering it price right? but there is nothing else to grow after? Panasonic abandon its eva1 line :( and fx30 is at the same price with better dynamic range and a full eco-system to grow with if you are starting out. my fx30 is my b-cam and if i were to start again, i would just get two of these and be able to do 99% of a beginners work. Also Business wise its just impossible to justify getting mft these days seeing how 3rd party glass with af @f1.2-4 are selling around 300-400$

​ @loudmotion5639 I can't really agree on that, I've used fx30 on the set and I prefer GH6. Its 4:3 5.7k BRAW open gate is a killer feature with anamorphic lenses. Also growing part of the business comes from skill, story, and capturing the moment. I think that we have become a little bit too obsessed with specs.

I'll have to review the video before answering. This was a while ago and I do not recall any camera being more detailed/sharper 👍

There is no big difference in detail, it's the depth of field. I shot Meike at T2.2 while sony was at F4, which means that meike was around 5.6 Full-frame equivalent when it comes to DOF. So this was sloppiness on my part. I assure you, detail wise, they are indistinguishable. Sony does win in Low light, dynamic range and bokeh department (full-frame) advantage 🙃

This is definitely not for everyone. Especially if you need crisp & sharp wide establishing shots, on the other hand for shooting interviewies and portraits in feauture films it does a great job. Rehousing process in no way tampers with the glass, it merely rehouses the lens and preserves its original performance 👍

Ye, it boasts top notch IBIS. Especially true in tripod mode! Generally people tend to prefer GH6 over almost any camera you pit it against, maybe its because of it being an underdog pricewise or its just that good of a camera. As for the size, GH4 was considerably smaller and I still like the bigger form factor of the GH6 (feels better in the hand)... personal preference I guess.
