Great review! I agree: Every day comfort is very important. I've always wanted to drive a 2 Series but BMW never brings them to their drive events. I think the new 3 Series rides like trash though - hopefully the basic 2 Series gets a better ride than the 3.

Mine was a 96 and I couldn't get 2 things that would have made all the difference in the world. So I sold it. The Mercury i bought came from Danville. I figured i was meant to have it when I saw Danville Illinois on the trunk panel.

The Riviera was not a ‘regular car bopping around’. This was an expensive top personal luxury car for an upper middle class household. It’s a shame what the emissions controls did to the power on those cars. Interesting video!

Some questions and corrections: 1) Handshalter translates, literally, to 'hand switch' in English. Not 'manual transmission.' 2) This is not a "special edition." BMW has been very specific in saying they will build as many as anyone wants to buy. Through MY 2026, no less. 3) They are not "special order only." There are quite a few sitting on dealer lots which were ordered by the dealers for their stock. 4) You say at the end of the video that you have not driven the vehicle, but at the beginning of the video you say that the clutch is "much easier to get used to." What are you basing this statement on?

I really like that this car even exists thanks to the collaboration with Toyota. I appreciate it may not be for everyone, but if your looking for a decent performing roadster our choices are growing increasingly scarce. The addition of the manual has definitely perked my interest. As an enthusiast of all cars, manual sports car are growing extinct, which is very sad. I know others out there will go on about how much faster the multi speed, dual clutch auto's shift...but I really don't find them engaging. A roadster with near 50/50 weight distribution, front engine/rear wheel drive set up, decent performance from one of the best engines currently offered with a 6 speed manual (as purist's intended it to be)......Absolutely PRICELESS!!! Bravo BMW...I will buy one.

The only real wood used in the interiors was the deluxe steering wheel which this car does not have. The woodgrain trim is plastic.

I'd buy this if it were cheaper than an M2. Once you add this package it's basically the same or slightly more expensive. Different cars and different purposes but still. I think that passthrough is for skis btw. Actually, the cupholders might be the real dealbreaker.

I have a 2003 P2 S80 2.5T with manual tranny. Would go for the T6, but they made only automatic ones. Great DD and sort of a sleeper too - no one expects a grey old clumsy Volvo to take off like that.

I own a 2013 Magma FJC. The subwoofer is OEM. The TRD badge on it is not. You're complaining about the interior accents, calling them cheap plastic, but failed to mention that as a rear passenger, you can't get out until the front seat riders get out, and then rear seat riders can open the suicide doors to get out. The passenger windows don't open. The FJ interior was designed for easy cleaning. The cupholders aren't luxurious features. They're simply a convenience, like in any vehicle. Those "auxillary gauges" are a compass, outside temp and an inclinometer - the flashing light means it needs to be calibrated. Get that rust on the undercarriage taken care of stat!
