Building a River Ecosystem for One of the Shortest-Lived Fish Species
The DIY project was much harder than expected where i built a River ecosystem with a Minature world beneath. Simulating the life of fish known to have one of the shortest life spans.

The Tiny Swamp Forest Ecosystem (100 day evolution)

For the past 100 days! I Simulated A Swamp Forest, Home to an Endangered species of fish. I built an ecosystem that would maintain itself, by tiny critters an animals working together. I even added in the natural disasters that happen in the in the wild! To see how the animals respond and the challenges they face. #Aquarium #ecosystem Follow along as the tank transforms with no filter, and no C...
The NEON Tetra Aquarium
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 6 měsíci
I Made this aquarium with minimal wood and let the plants grow in to give it shape. The previous setup failed and I reused the wood and broke it up into smaller pieces and planted stem, plants around the edges. leaving them to grow where ever they wished. Here is how it looks after months of growth.
7:31 is that a bamboo shrimp? If so I dont think it will live long They need good flow They do sift through the sand for food But it will destroy their fans if done often and they wont be able to eat until their next molt
I know the tank has a filter :)
Copy paste
Dude this is a very cool tank!! I love the idea behind this❤ I might have to make a tank like this! Love it!
Thank you! I had the idea for killifish 1st and then when I got the idea for the tank it worked out well. When is your next video @MrHillbilly
When the foam floated... been there buddy hahahaha. Great project though!
@TankitEasySG Haha the plan was for it to be a snug fit when I filled the sides with sand but it was all fun 🤣 Thank you
What light are tou using ?
Twinstar 450SA
Oh, it,s the 55 liters right? I HAVE THE 35L
@pinzarufilip-catalin6008 This is the 70L, you can got the 300SA I think tho
This video was fucking amazing. Keep up the good work bro. Love from Manchester UK!! Subscribed!!
@amirh3806 Nice one bro! I appreciate it. Just working on part 2 now. Nearly there
would love to see an update on the baby bettas!!
@berbishshsh That video is coming next :)
@@plantbox60 great!! excited for it
Thanks for Watching! Let me know what video ideas you would like to see next? i have a few more projects coming soon This was a tough video to make and the story was actually supposed to be of the fastest growing killifish reaching maturing in 2 weeks and has the shortest life span of all the killifish (N Furzeri) but the eggs were not ready to hatch so i got some more.
this videos script is....something for sure
@unorthodox8552 Thank you
Your videos are super cool! For your next, you could possibly try building an ecosystem centered around a bonsai tree.
@Ashyp4aws There's one growing 👀 not a bonsai but something different
@@plantbox60 Awesome! I can’t wait to see it grow into something awesome
Why are these videos SO cool?
You really remind me of the red guy from please don't hug me im scared if you don't know that series you can go take a look it's really great and this is an amazing video
@yellow_bud I didn't know what it was but I've just watched it. I think I've seen characters from it before. looks good! massive views as well. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it
Underrated, keep it up!
@tejano1 Appreciate it!
did you actually kill the fish?
@aledgardanishh They have short life cycles
Watching chill ecosystem videos in a rainy day>>>
Another amazing video! So underrated ❤
Thank you
Quality 👌
That is why you apply the spray foam directly on the glass or an anchored frame.
What are the plant you have used
Blyxca japonia, few species of cryptocoryne. Eleocstrisharis palustraris tall grass would work great without a lid. water lettuce floating plants
Bro your soooo underrated like seriously
Really nice video!
i like mixing plants for a carpet as well. More natural looking :)
@lushandsaltyaquariums Thanks i miss this tank i thought it was quite plain at the time but looking back i miss it
@@plantbox60 The internet allows us to look back at our aquariums, whereas before digital pics and CZcams we onll moved forward. On the other hand our aquarium scapes are seldom static, always evolving with or without our hands in the tank.
Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago, where I am a subscriber to yours and where i am also in awe of what you built!
A few tips about using spray foam and my experience with it. I’ve found that silicon is a more expensive but overall more effective method of attaching crushed rock and other small bits to the foam. Originally cutting out the foam in the box was extremely smart and made it easy to carve to your liking. However if u were to use spray foam between the gap of the glass and the carved faom box, it would’ve tightly and securely stuck to the glass. Love your videos! There really inspiring and teach me a lot👍
What spray adhesive did you use? Ive only ever used that for flooring but that was toxic for sure. That seems like a great alternative to the messy silicone ones you see. Awesome video btw 👌
Im skeptical of how aquarium safe it truly would be. I feel like an aerosol like that could get into the water easily. But i guess there were no shown effects in the video
Dymax scaping spray adhesive can be used. I thought the same so it took some searching! same for foam and silicon used Thank you i appreciate it
@@plantbox60 thanks for the info!
What is the name of this killi species?
nothobranchius rubripinnis and nothobranchius guentheri. The original plan was Nothobranchius Furzeri but the eggs were not ready to hatch
Oh wow! You've gained 8,000 subscribers since your last video!
Really loved the video, just thought the voice was a bit too loud. But really enjoyed
@calminhIt Thank you I appreciate the feedback, in my 1st video the music was too loud so I tried to lower it this time
Why did you upload this three times
Sound issues
I love the cinematography
nice video and i LOVE this biotope tank!
Great video!
this video was great. In my opinion, it could have been a bit longer, and you could have gone into more detail, since I fear some people who don't know much about killifish might be confused, Still, I was very happy to see a new upload from you. keep up the great work
Thank you I agree with you, I tried with this one, the story actually was even harder than shown in the video lol the original story was actually back to front with N fuzeri killifish. It just didn't go to plan Thank you
Interesting
Brilliant. Was waiting for your next one. Very interesting well done 👍
yup
A cave interesting
Noice
first ❤
Mantap, cantik dan indah ❤❤❤❤❤
I have a suggestion, create a community tank with betta imbellis with some rasboras. Betta imbellis live in a pod (a group consists of up to 12 bettas) in the wild alongside gouramis .
@hafizfikri1108 Great Idea! ill add it too the list, i have a larger aquarium that could maybe do this that im not using
How did you make the effect of rain? By the way, you have a really good artistic sense, so much beauty. Take note that sometimes the sounds of the bird, your voice and the music conflict with each other and sometimes some sound effects are way too loud. But anyway you did a wonderful video.
@fax337 Thank you the water is a pressured spray bottle. I appreciate the feedback. This is my 1st time doing a long form video properly so there's plenty to learn still. A new video is almost finished
@@plantbox60 It is my pleasure to help. It will be great to see the improvements in the next videos.
Sexy voice tbh
Hahaha spreader Thingy
Awesome video! i was so scared there was something wrong with the female beta 😅
I thought the same when I was watching
