Society's growing disconnect from nature is unfortunate. In this age of food industrialization, we must honour the practices of our predecessors. Organic gardening has a rich history spanning over 10,000 years. We used to cultivate high-quality, organic food for our families, but now we settle for nutrient-poor, pesticide-laden produce from our "trusted" grocers. Some say the days are gone, but I believe in preserving the good things amidst change.
Consider this: today's grocery store apple contains roughly 25 times fewer nutrients than one from 1914. To match the nutritional value of the past, you'd need to consume 25 apples in one sitting. Our current practices have depleted everything, unlike ancient methods that were less harmful to our planet. Although some may argue that there is no longer a reason to care, that is the exact mindset that needs to be eliminated.
I'm here to assist those who still care deeply. May God bless your success.

Subscribing. Great video. Helpful.
Much appreciated!
I am glad to help!
this video should have a bunch a vies already . thank you too much .
I am so glad you enjoyed it!
£6.29 for 20 seeds??? Yet each ripe tomato could contain 20 to 50 seeds? That seed company is making a FORTUNE!!!
Half that for GBP. $6.29 is Canadian Dollars. New seeds are often twice the price of seeds that have been on the market for a while.
Better with a netted enclosure rather than a jar, has better ventilation
Thank you. Been thinking about composting and this seems like the easiest way to do it in the garden
How beautiful, I want to start raising monarch butterflies. I'm watching videos and learning. thanks for the video

Beautiful 🌿🦋
Thank you!
I have a milkweed plant and noticed about 20 caterpillars on it earlier today. I just checked them again 6 hours later … I’m going to buy more plants right now as they have eaten almost the entire plant!!
Wow! That is truly amazing! Keep them very well fed as they have a long migration down to Mexico. I absolutely love to hear it! Good luck 😀
What type of milkweed is that please tell me can you tell some Amazon names
They eat the milkweed with white or lavender flowers. Don't know the scientific name.
Good vids, keep it up
I thunk thats the wrong ant i think its milk weed u need
The thumbnail was a bit clickbaity, didn't see anything about killing your plants having something to do with the last leaf. Sorry, no upvote for me. Nor a downvote, just a disappointed comment.
I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment. The thumbnail shows the late-season blight on my tomato plants' leaves. In this situation, most people would chop and drop their plants to cycle the organic matter. However, by doing so, you are putting the blight back into the soil to kill your plants next year.
@@therealgardener Ah, now it makes sense. Not clickbaity then, just a bit ambiguous :)
I gotta say, the title and thumbail literally MADE me click. I can definitely see your channel blowing up, keep it up.
Thank you my brother in Christ 🙏
Your tomatoes don't have blight, those leaves are just damaged, blight forms black patches on stems eventualy spreading to the fruif and blackening both green and red tomatoes, plants should be pulled up roots and all and placed in bin bags to be disposed of with general rubbish but if possible burn the affected plant with other garden debris that cannot be composted!
Yes, the plants also have black spots on the stems and fruit trusses. But I did not know that that was the only indicator. Thanks.
I gotta watch later cause I had 55 notifications 😅
I’m sorry I missed it my tablet was tooken away on Sunday or Monday I cannot remember but I’m here now!
30% of the fruit is a good rule of thumb for foraging
Yes, that is a good ratio. It is important to leave some for the wildlife as well
Wow
The problem with plantain, is that this plant may be useful as a medicine, given to enhance the coaguability of the blood, but, given to certain person, old, or at risk of developing a clot for any reason, it may dramaticaly resolve into an ischemic accident, such as a stroke. This is something definitively not to be considered simple food by people who are not used to it since childhood, or a long time. Anyone who already suffered a stroke, or a heart crisis, should even not think takink this plant.
Oh my I was not aware of that. I am glad you shared the information.
Congratulations on the harvest! The plants, and their bounty are looking good
Thank you my friend!
Me: that's a nice mini strawberry Him: the first ripe raspberry Me: yes, raspberry

Thank you! 😃
That pluck almost looked real.
Yeah, I will say that I pulled the cucumber off before I started recording. But I'm glad it almost looked real 🤣.
@therealgardener it all looked good I guarantee that.
God i hate tomatos 😂
Well that's too bad, isn't it? 😂

You're exactly right! Isn't it amazing how much a simple herb can elevate your dish? 😀
yesss harvest videos are so satisfying
This was a super satisfying video ❤
Glad you liked it!
Didn't know Rose of Sharon was edible, very cool.
Im not familiar with rose of sharon. I wasnt aware that nasturtium leaves were edible, either!
I am glad I could inform both of you! Do some research and see how you can use them
@@benny_lemon5123Nasturtium leaves are preppery deliciousness! However, the majority of people gag at the spicy pungency the first time until it becomes an acquired taste. The flower is even tastier and probably the most first-taste friendly part of the plant 😋 My favourite flavour is Cherry Rose because of its floral touch of sweetness. You can dehydrate the leaves and grind it as a substitute for pepper. The seeds can be pickled like capers.
Neither do I! I have it as edging, I learned to eat the Nasturtium about three years ago..🎉
What did you do with all that
All the greens went to salads (God I love salads). And the beans were prepared simply: boiled and left to cool down completely, then tossed with olive oil, vinegar, garlic, and parsley. Very delicious!
Oh and the nasturtium leaves and roses of sharon were made into a beautiful garden Bouquet. The video for that is coming out very soon. Stay tuned!
I'm surprised that raspberry even made it into the basket! And not at all surprised it wasn't there in the next shot 😂
😄😂😂
This is really helpful. Thanks
I'm so glad to help!
Can’t wait for it to hatch 🐛🦋 it’s gonna be pretty butterflies are pretty 🤩

I must admit this is a favorite hobby of mine also 😂
Basil flowerheads should be included in your recipes for Italian breads and pizza doughs, and things like focaccia bread...!!!
Yes, you can do that if your plants have already flowered. They're milder than the leaves, but are a beautiful garnish!
Ew, i saw a bug on it! That's disgusting 🤮 Why don't you just get your vegetables from the store like a normal person?
I'm sorry to hear that you are disgusted and I'm sorry to tell you that your "clean" vegetables from the grocery originally had bugs on them too. They had bugs, dirt, poop, and best of all, they still retain toxic chemical pesticides and herbicides even after you have washed them with more toxic chemicals.
😂 This was hilarious.
i stopped growing those things because there is no way (imo) to completely get rid of aphids this way. Usually they also hide in the inner layers later on. 🤮 One thing is to grow aphid magnets and to hope they rather live on that plant than on salad etc.
tried neem, tried garlic, tried soap, tried essential oils, tried nettle leaf….. it’s a pain in the butt…. or hope for beetles 🪲 to arrive and eat them….
Yes they are very difficult to get rid of in large quantities. I have personally always been able to eliminate aphids with this castile soap mixture, but my best advice would just be to stay consistent. Keep spraying (if you absolutely need to) until the aphids are gone. And like you said, get in all the crevices. Try to protect ladybugs, their larvae and earwigs, as these are all aphid-eaters. Hope this helps!
My tip is plant as many flowers nearby as you can, and fragrant herbs, the more diverse your insect life is, the less chance youll have for pests to wreack havoc
@@colbymarsh2074 exactly. Very good advice. It's always an amazing idea to keep your garden ecosystem diverse because at the end of the day, you're not growing plants, plants grow themselves.
Great information! Thanks for sharing. By the way I am new to your channel. Thanks for having me!
